A blast from the past. A hoppy American Porter last brewed at 3 Floyds in 2004.

An opaque dark brown color with minimal tan head. Aroma was fairly light with a chocolate malt sweetness predominating and just a little hops behind. The taste was similar with nice chocolate malt and moderate coffee flavors. More pine hops in the flavor but the bitterness was kept low by the malt. Very smooth with a medium to light body. A nice twist on the classic porter.

Kegged summer 2015; drank 9/9/15 @ Fischman's.
Brown appearance.
Khaki head; nice lace.
Milk chocolate, orange citrus & black coffee notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Black coffee & orange citrus flavors up front; bakers chocolate notes on the finish.
Basically, an above average black IPA. Good.

I had the precious hoppy PORTER at pizza parlor on green and washington. This beer poured a opaque dark with white head that left a spotty lace. The scent was earth and espresso. The taste was an evenly balanced porter with hop pizzazz. The Mouthfeel was medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's a solid porter.

Precious Three Floyds at The Pint Room in Carmel, IN. Poured in to a tester.
Look - Dark yellow-brown. Good ivory to tan head on tester glass. A lot of lacing. Head does settle to nothing.
Smell - Dank hop. Chocolate. Char. Berry.
Taste - Very hoppy as advertised. Chocolate. Bubblegum. Bready malt. Charred. Lemon. Citrus finish.
Feel - Chewy. Medium. Very carbonated. Bitterness on tongue.
Overall - Chocolate bubblegum hoppy porter. As close to a black IPA as you can get. I see why this was brought out of retirement. Floyds roots.
