This is NOT am amber. This is an IPA. Taste, feel and smell are all that out an IPA. Completely mis-named and really disappointing to anyone looking for a smooth malty beer.

An aggressive pour reveals a cloudy amber body under a light tan head. Big fruity hops and rich caramalt aromas give way to an exquisitely balanced hop-forward taste with a malty chaser.
I’m a Three Floyd’s fanboy, and this hoppy amber is another illustration why that is the case.

Look: slightly hazy orange-amber with a decent amount of carbonation visible through the beer. 1 3/4 finger off-white head that leaves a decent amount of sticky lace.
Smell: very classic hop aroma. lemon, pine, dank leafiness, bitter orange peel. smells just like rubbing hops in your hands and then smelling them but without the unpleasant harshness of doing that. enjoyable, but i'm not getting much more than hops here.
Taste: Lots of that hop presence is there. Expresses itself most prominently with that bitter orange flavor. The malt is definitely there so that this one doesn't act like an IPA. There is some lemon to go along with the bitter orange and a light caramel note from the malt to balance things out. Definitely on the hoppier side for an amber, but I'm not complaining.
Feel: lovely and thick. would perhaps have liked a bit more carbonation on this one, but thin this is absolutely not, so I can't knock it too much. This is damn chewy, and I love that.
Overall: It skews a little too bitter for the style in my opinion. I don't think I'd buy this again, but it was an enjoyable quaff. This is a great beer for getting some unadulterated hop flavor with a chewy mouthfeel and no frills or gimmicks. I would have liked the malt to have been dialed up a bit more as well as the carbonation for this to be one that I'd revisit.

Nice amber color, malty and hoppy aroma that translates well into the taste and finishes smooth and a little sweet. A great amber
