$10.99 bottle found and swooped up at Jenifer Street Market in Madison, Wisconsin.
Appearance: Pitch black with a finger of fine brown bubbles. Nice lacing. Looks very good in the glass. (4.25/5)
Smell: True to the style. Yep, smells pretty much like chocolate milk and quality roasted coffee. Nothing out of the ordinary, but absolutely outstanding for the style. (4.25/5)
Taste/feel: 8%? Yeah right. I don't get that anywhere. The feel is ridiculous. It has a slight prickliness initially that reminds me of a porter, but then there's a super awesome milk stout silkiness the rest of the way. Insanely tasty stuff. Great blend of chocolate and coffee with a pretty much perfect balance of chocolate and coffee notes. Aftertaste is pretty light, surprisingly, and begs for you to take a second sip. Then a third. Then a fourth... before you know it, the stuff's gone. (4.25/5, 4.5/5)
So this is probably my favorite milk stout. If not (according to my rating), it's close to it. This beer isn't a "sipper" by definition, but you're gonna want to enjoy each and every sip of this beer.
