Bottled on 08/05/2014. Sampled and reviewed on February 25, 2015.

Poured from a 22 oz. bomber into a pilsner glass. Pours black with a beautiful 3 finger head of brown foam. Good head retention on the glass all the way through. Smells of chocolate, malt, milk, coffee, roasted nuts (hazelnut, walnut, etc.), caramel, and hints of spice. Full bodied, as you would expect with a stout. Very smooth. Taste of chocolate, toffee, malt, and tiny bit of alcohol initially. Aftertaste is sweet with a slight coffee bitterness. Quite pleasant.

Overall, a great stout. Not the best stout I've had from FFF, but a solid beer none the less. It reminded me of Blot Out the Sun, only toned down in all aspects. At 6+ months old, I would say any hoppiness this beer had has been muted. It's a delicious beer for sure. I'd like to try one fresh and see if it has any more of a presence.

650 Ml bottle
Served in a Three Floyds teku glass

It is black in appearance. No light comes through even when held to a source of light. It is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves virtually no lacing.

I get some sweetness from the lactose. It has an almost chocolate milk aroma.

The taste is a little more roasted malt. The sweetness is still there, but the roasted malt cuts the sweetness more in the flavor than on the nose.

It has a full, smooth mouthfeel.

It is not one of the wild and crazy Three Floyds' beers, but it is well done and a solid milk stout.

Deep, dark brown in color with a thin tan head. Great waft of baker’s chocolate and a slight hint of coffee. The mouthfeel is creamy, smooth, flaked oats. Big roasted malts amp up the profile. As close to a chocolate milkshake as you can get here. There is a bitterness that ensures that this stout does not go into the deep end on the sweetness scale.
