Poured from a 22oz bomber into a Duvel tulip. No dating info but my buddy picked it up at the brewery right after the release date so it's fresh. Was a slightly hazy orange amber color with good carb streams. Had a large, foamy head that settled into a foam cap. Good sheeting with some sticking.
Aroma was citric hops (mainly grapefruit, pineapple, mango, peach?) along with light piney hops and caramel malt. Really good for an IPA. The flavor is c-hops forward with low dose of pine and then some malt at the end to keep the bitterness very low. I liked it but didn't love it. Was missing something but can't really pin it down - maybe a tad more malt or tad more grapefruit vs the other citric? Mouthfeel was creamy and full with crisp carbonation.
Overall, a really good IPA that just missed being great for me. But I can see this really hitting a lot of people's wheel house so do highly recommend it if you love the hops. Not avail here in TX so got from Umagum - many thanks as always! Rotation - can't get here but if avail near me a bottle or two per release. Got a feeling I'll grow into this one [O;Y]
