Notes & Commercial Description:
Beer added by: BeerAdvocate on 03-19-2006

This beer is brewed during the hop harvest with a portion of unkilned or “wet” hops fresh off the vine. Apricot in color, Broo Doo’s nose has dominant orange, pine sap and floral notes, balanced by a glazed nut and toffee malt body. This celebration of the hop harvest has intense tropical fruit, citrus and spicy accents that showcase the complexity of the hops we all love.

The description is spot on: tropical fruit and citrus, a touch of pine and a good malt backbone. A good no-coast IPA.

Pours a beautiful gold, delicious taste of hops with almost no bitterness.

One of my favorite American IPA's

Golden yolk, laced thick white foam. Apricots, pluots, lite lime. Citrusy bitterness, not heavy on the malt. Not bad

Hazy Amber color with a thick head
Aroma with notes of pine, some caramels and orange; releases easily, but it is rather delicate (not faint).
Flavor is definitely hoppier, though far from aggressive, how an eighty IBU beer could’ve been. Notes of pine, lots of resin, flowers, fresh oranges, spices, honey, grapefruit, grass and lots of mango. Dry aftertaste with a present but amazingly smooth bitterness.
Light to medium body with mild carbonation. Alcohol of 7% abv is well hidden.
Interesting and unique American IPA, a hop juice, literally with more hop flavors than bitterness. Very well balanced.
