Notes & Commercial Description:
Beer added by: BeerAdvocate on 03-19-2006

This beer is brewed during the hop harvest with a portion of unkilned or “wet” hops fresh off the vine. Apricot in color, Broo Doo’s nose has dominant orange, pine sap and floral notes, balanced by a glazed nut and toffee malt body. This celebration of the hop harvest has intense tropical fruit, citrus and spicy accents that showcase the complexity of the hops we all love.

Poured from a 22 oz bomber into a Hill Farmstead tulip.
A: Hazy and slightly orange in color. Half inch off white head. Nice lacing.
S: A dank, earthy, slightly citrusy aroma with notes of grass and hay. Not the most aromatic of wet hop beers I've had.
T: What stands out the most for me is the hop bitterness that lingers on the finish. Has an astringent aspect to the finish. Citrus rind and pine. Medium maltiness.
M: This beer definitely lingers on the finish. The bitterness of the hops stays with you.
O: Another very good beer from a world class brewery. It's not Dreadnaught (one of the finest DIPAs out there IMHO), but it's not meant to be. It's a tasty hophead-oriented beer meant to be enjoyed fresh. Grab one if you can find it.

Big want! Cheers, Steasy66!!

Appearance. Pours amber-gold with a little haze and a finger of thick white head. Really great lacing. Pretty much everything I'd want an ipa to look like.

Smell. Nice citrus rinds (oranges especially) and some tropical fruits, sweet light malts.

Taste. Big citrus fruits again, pineapple, quite juicy. Some decent malty sweetness but nothing excessive. Very nice.

Mouthfeel. Medium body, below medium carbonation, quite creamy. Pretty much bang on.

Overall. All that and a bag of rooby tonez. Seriously, great stuff. Thanks Ryan!!
