Availability: Fall

Notes/Commercial Description:
This beer is brewed during the hop harvest with a portion of unkilned or “wet” hops fresh off the vine. Apricot in color, Broo Doo’s nose has dominant orange, pine sap and floral notes, balanced by a glazed nut and toffee malt body. This celebration of the hop harvest has intense tropical fruit, citrus and spicy accents that showcase the complexity of the hops we all love.

A: Pours a cloudy golden honey color, very small head that fades fast, very light lacing

S: Strong notes of grapefruit, mango, pineapple, guava, and sweet rock candy. Just loads of sweet tropical fruit with a nice little hint of jasmine/rose in the back of the nose

T: Bitter grassy hops up front, slight tinge of citrus in the back, light bitterness that lingers

M: Medium viscosity, light carbonation, no booze

O: This was a very good fresh hop IPA, definitely something I would buy if it was available in my area

Bomber poured into a FFF tulip

A- Copper with golden hues. Slightly reflective but still clear enough to let you slightly see your hand on the other side. Poured a frothy white head that settled down to a thin layer of foam on the edges that leaves slight lacing

S - As I bring the beer to my nose, it is met with a strong, tropical hop nose with a slight pine edge to it. There is mango, pineapple, tangerine that give it a sweetness crossed with a slight pine and grassy edge. Great smelling beer.

T - At first, there is a slight pine and grapefruit hops which give it a slight bitterness. There is also a grassy, almost vegetal taste which reminds you of the freshness of the hops. This is not at all a hop bomb though as a solid malt backbone gives it a sweet pineapple and orange backbone. This helps keep it balanced and easy to drink

MF - Light with low carbonation. It is slightly astringent in the finish and leaves a slight hop resin that sits on the tongue

O - Another solid IPA by FFF that strikes a nice balance between hops and malt. It manages to be flavorful without being too heavy

Bomber poured into tulip glass.

A: Medium rusty orange color; inch of slightly off-white head

S: A bit of weediness; definitely hop dominated, but a small presence of grainy/bready malts. Orange peel...

T: Fresh, juicy hop burst. Honestly, just fantastic balance in this one. Despite the fresh wet hop presence, enough malt not to leave a puckering bitterness. The wet hop has an earthy taste to it, too.

M: Medium...just right.

O: Being in Chicago, I have easy access to most of the 3F offering. This might be my second favorite 3F beer (after ZD, of course!). It just works for me. Cheers...
