Notes/Commercial Description:
This beer is brewed during the hop harvest with a portion of unkilned or “wet” hops fresh off the vine. Apricot in color, Broo Doo’s nose has dominant orange, pine sap and floral notes, balanced by a glazed nut and toffee malt body. This celebration of the hop harvest has intense tropical fruit, citrus and spicy accents that showcase the complexity of the hops we all love.

This beer is amazingly complex with layer upon layer of that delicious hoppy taste and It seems to cling on forever. It seems to swirl between that citrus taste to almost mint and even at times it tastes so fresh that it tastes nearly soapy in a sense. all at the same time it doesn't get too dry or give you that extra syrup taste in your mouth.

smells very hoppy

mouth feel is light

appears mid-orange

one of the best beers that ive had in a while!

Live tasting bomber courtesy of rmcnealy (THANKS!!) into Duvel tulip.

Appearance; pours a hazy orange/pale amber color with two fingers of bubbly straw colored head. Retention is ok, with the head falling over the course of several minutes. Lacing is good with a sticky foam clinging to the sides of the glass.

Smell; Broodoo opens with mellow pine, hints of honey and notes of citrus. Slight notes of caramel and toffee a well.

Taste; follows the aroma to a t, with a lingering pine bitterness that is quite subtle and not exceptionally bitter. A very well rounded brew, with mellow flavored all around.

Mouthfeel; Broodoo is medium bodied with crisp carbonation that really accents the finish and let's the subte bitterness hang around without being overwhelming.

Overall; a damn fine beer that I think may have been a bit more lively closer to its release, still it has held up quite well, and is much better than some fresh offerings I've had!!

pours a cloudy orange with a loose and spitty head that froths the glass up quit beautifully. lingerie lace everywhere.

the nose bounds out of the deucer as soon as the cap is popped loose. juicy and citrusy with some grass and lemon and some crystal sugar notes. chlorophyll wet hop presence lends freshness. not fresh out of the brewery at this point but still smelling amazing.

the taste is quite is enjoyable. grapefruity with pronounced toasty caramel backbone. bitterness is mild for an IPA but this is certainly within the category. again juicy comes to mind.

the mouthfeel is medium. perfect IPA base for hop showcasing on top of some substance.

overall this is solid as expected. the crusty caramel notes make me aware that this is slightly going out of peak. he hops are still lovely on the nose and their presence in the flavor remains enjoyable. a few months ago when this was funky fresh and super fly, I bet it was just bodaciously pungent because it is still rocking a nice bouquet. solid. still worth a grab...

A- Pours a nice straw color with a 2 in head. Has really good lacing throughout

S-Has a nice piney aroma up front, I also et some citrus and hop notes as well.

T-Has a cirtus tropical flavor up front followed by a nice malty flavor in the middle and then ends with a carmel crisp hop flavor

M-Medium Bodied with good carbonation

D-OVerall this was a very tasty beer. Nice wet hop offering.. I think i prefer Founders wet hop beer just tad better. I think this one is just a little too dry at times to wet my whistle. But overall a solid brew and i would very much like to have it on tap sometime.

Picked this up on a recent trip to Wisconsin. Brewed in October, I believe, so it's probably past its prime, but I'm still excited to try it.

Pours a medium orangey amber, slightly hazy. One-finger of cream-colored head, decent retention, and really nice lacing. Some happy little bubble streams fighting to escape. Looks just how an IPA should.

Strong piney, resiny hop aromas come flooding out. Nose-tinglingly robust, and quite pleasant. A bit of lemon peel in the background suggests that it once had more citrus. After a few more smells, more fruit starts to creep in behind the dominant pine. Quite nice.

Once again, the pine presence is pronounced. At times I almost feel like I'm chewing on pine needles, or drinking gin, or something like that. Has a bit of the warmth that I expect from wet hop beers, but not much. Some good variety going on through the taste here, with different flavors waxing and waning. Bitter throughout, kicking up near the end, before gradually fading away.

Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, pleasantly sticky, and very persistent. Has that clingy feel I want. Carbonation is almost perfect - prickly up front, relaxing to a smooth low tickle for the rest of the taste.

A very tasty IPA, with a strong pine presence. Next year I will try hard to get a fresher bottle, as I can only imagine what it would be like closer to bottling. That said, I'm quite impressed with how well it's held up.
