Notes/Commercial Description:
This beer is brewed during the hop harvest with a portion of unkilned or “wet” hops fresh off the vine. Apricot in color, Broo Doo’s nose has dominant orange, pine sap and floral notes, balanced by a glazed nut and toffee malt body. This celebration of the hop harvest has intense tropical fruit, citrus and spicy accents that showcase the complexity of the hops we all love.

A) lovely dark golden slightly cloudy. Firm pour produced lot of head with long retention

S) subtle melon sweetness. Lemon as the citrus mostly. Some pineapple, really inviting sweet smell.

T)more fruit with the bitterness that is really not overwhelming. Nice sweetness prevails, although not as pronounced as nose which had you believing you were at Tropical Smoothy for a sec. Some citrus some pineapple. Faint malt but balanced once again as so many Floyd's are. Some pine notes too.

M) really a moderate body to full body some carbonation.

O) top notch wet hopped beer. For me toss up between Founders Harvest Ale and this Amazing the subtleties in the aroma. Loved it. Wish it was a year round brew and more attainable , but alas it is not on either account.

A - Bright orange-copper brew, mostly clear, with a white head, slow fading, with significant lacing.

S - Bright pine. Green grass clippings. Lemon citrus.

T - The nose comes through here, in bold citrus flavors, although the flavor is more tangerine than lemon, and crisp pine resin. The malt is backgrounded, lending sweetness. Hints of mango come through in the middle. Bitterness is present, particularly in the close, but is subtle and does not overwhelm.

M - Brisk carbonation, slight drying. Some resin build, but not too much.

O - Three Floyds delivers a tasty wet hop IPA, delicious and full-flavored. A thoroughly enjoyable beer that avoids the overly vegetal renditions of wet hops that I've experienced.

Poured from a bottle recently brought back by a friend from work (who was lucky enough to be at the brewpub a couple weeks back).

Pretty tasty IPA, with a nice balance of sweet malt and hoppy goodness in the finish. The beer has some interesting green, leafy tobacco notes in the nose and on the palate, which I assume represents the wet hop character in this beer. The finish is dry, hoppy and clean otherwise, in what comes across as a pretty big mouthful of IPA. There are better wet hop IPA's out there, but regardless, this is a very well made, easy to appreciate (if you're a hophead) IPA.

Very nice beer...
