Got a sixer of this in a trade with slater1313. Poured into a pint glass.
4.5 A: Clear orange amber. Two fingers of dense head with good retention and plenty of lacing.
4.5 S: Lots of raw hop aroma. Citrus and floral in nature, the hops block out most of the malt character, but there still is a bit of fruitiness to it.
4.0 T: Lots of hop flavor now. It actually tastes like I'm drinking liquified hops (though not mindblowingly intense). I guess what distinguishes this from an IPA is that, for as much hop content there is, there is relatively little bitterness compared to the total amount of hops used. Anyway, this beer is mildly bitter with citric and mild piney hop flavor. Malt character takes a background seat to the hop flavor. This beer is pretty damn good, but it lacks some complexity from the malt perspective. Malts lend a pinch of fruitiness and there is definitely some crystal malt present.
3.5 M: Medium body and a little lighter than I think it should be. Very smooth, but slightly undercarbonated.
4.5 D: I can deal without the complexity in the malts because the hops taste so damn good. Therefore, this beer is extremely drinkable.

American pale ale
6.66% ABV 68 IBU
APPEARANCE: Poured out a vibrant rust color. Star bright clear no haziness at all. Great big pillowy egg shell white head. Great retention and lacing.
AROMA: Strong pine and citrus right away. Smells like breakfast of fresh squeezed orange juice and warm toast. Malty sweetness and carmel.
TASTE: Another 3 Floyds APA that drinks like an IPA to me. Very piney and citrus right up front. Hops hit in the middle and rounds out with that great maltiness I got on the nose. Literally taste so good makes you want to slap yo mama!
MOUTHFEEL: Medium to light body along with the carbonation. Dry snappy finish that almost leaves you thirsty.
OVERALL: Once again very impressed with a 3 Floyds brew. Still can't believe this is an APA reminds me of a wonderful low key west coast IPA. Would for sure try and get more of this goodness.
