12 Oz poured into a pint glass

Cant believe I have tried 12 other three floyds beers before getting around to try this one.

A- Pours clear orange amber. Nice visible carbonation. A dense foamy three finger head of an off white coloration.

S- A very hoppy punch to the nose. Great sugary citrus like pinapple and mango and orange, Smells like fresh fruit. A light but delicious smelling malt backbone. An extremely fresh hop profile that somehow reminds me of candy. Smells slightly like fruity pebbles and Lysol, in a very good way. A marvelous smelling pale.

T- Tastes like it smells. It starts off with a sugary malt rush of light caramel and candy. Its followed up by a ton of fresh citrus flavors. Its all about the pinapple and mango, Lots of lemon and orange as well. The bitterness is relatively low considering the hop profile.

M- This beer is fairly bitter and sweet but also, not too hard to take down more then a few. Good carbonation to match the flavors. A bitter aftertaste but with that comes the glorious citrus flavors.

O- Embarrassed that it took me this long to get around to try this one. This is the best pale ale I know of. Its also priced well, unlike a lot of other 3F brews. If you like a hoppy pale ale and IPA's, this is the bomb.

Cheers to Goblinmunkey7 for giving me two bottles of this for no reason whatsoever

Consumed 3/12/12

Appearance: Unexpectedly dark - amber with copper - hazy, but mostly clear - minimal white head, leaves a little spotty lacing

Smell: Hoppy with some balance - lots of citrus - floral citrus, orange and grapefruit rind, some flesh, some pine as well - definitely interesting, but not IPA-level (which is appropriate) - malt profile is interesting - biscuits, slightly toasted, some sweetness, some earthy notes that just scream APA

Taste: So good and so balanced - I am not sure what stands out more, the malts or the hops - malty, with dry, toasted biscuits, some toasted grains, and some earthiness - hoppy, with lots of citrus - oily, pithy, with some citrus peel, nicely bitter

Mouthfeel: Medium body, nice carbonation, dry

Overall: A well-balanced, great APA

Everything about this beer is great. It is well-rounded. Hoppy, yet not as extreme as something like Three Floyds' Zombie Dust, and nicely malty. But just like Zombie Dust, I wish I could easily acquire this.

Thanks to auracom for this. Tulip glass.

A: Pours a golden copper color, good clarity, with a half finger of light stone colored head. Decent retention and lacing.

S: Grassy hops, mild caramel and bready malt, some orange and tangerine notes as well (more so when warm).

T: Similar, with subtle hop bitterness on finish.

M: Medium body and medium-high carbonation. Carbonation is a tad harsh.

O: Very solid pale ale, an easy drinker which is balanced and packs lots of flavor for the ABV.

A- Deep amber, nice head retention
S- floral, citrus, hint of malt
T- Citrus hops, hint of malt, bitter finish, would prefer a bit more malty
M- Very undercarbed, probably because this is a taproom growler pour
O- Good beer, worth a try, need to try this from a bottle to really give it a fair shake.
