Thanks to Jw347 for sending this one hitherward.
Pours a very nice grapefruit/ruby red color. Glows in the light. A nice white head hangs around for just a bit and leaves good lacing.
Nose is actually quite a bit of hop resins, along with some rock candy like malt sweetness. Some grassiness and spice as well.
Taste quite good. A lot of nice malty sweetness, candy like sugar and a nice slight spice character. The hop profile is not as high as the nose indicated, but is still there and fits in with the rest of the flavor perfectly. A good sort of fruitiness through the middle that also hangs out on the aftertaste. The spice character through the middle grows somewhat as this one warms. The finish is fairly dry, pretty much what you would expect for the hop profile. The aftertaste lingers with candy sugar and malty goodness, as well as a slight hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel is just about perfect here. A nice viscous feel with good carbonation and a strong slickness without losing any dryness on the finish.
Drinkability is pretty good given the abv. It hides pretty well, but is certainly noticeable.
Overall this is a very well crafted and interesting brew. Glad I have one more to put some age on, as I think this one will do well with a couple years. A good take on a new emerging style, and one that I have become quite fond of. Neat to see all the big collaborations coming out now. Good brew.

Sept. 2014: 750 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10.4%. Hazy brown colour, moderate but lasting off-white head. Very nice aroma of fruity and piney American hops, some sweetish malts in the background. The flavour is dangerously drinkable and even refreshing for a beer of this strength, some sweetness but no too much. And of course large amounts of American hops, fruity first, with a massive resinous bitterness in the finish.

9400th review! 22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled in 2008. Pours moderately hazy deep ruby red/orange/copper color with a 1 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big raisin, plum, fig, date, pear, apricot, red apple, honey, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of cocoa, roast, leather, tobacco, herbal, wood, grass, peppercorn, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity yeast, dark/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of big raisin, plum, fig, date, pear, apricot, red apple, honey, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of cocoa, roast, leather, tobacco, herbal, wood, grass, peppercorn, citrus peel/rind, pine, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roasted bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, date, pear, apricot, red apple, honey, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, nuts, cocoa, roast, leather, tobacco, herbal, wood, grass, peppercorn, citrus peel/rind, pine, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity yeast, dark/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a smooth, creamy/bready/grainy/sticky/resinous, and lightly slick/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 10.4% after the finish. Overall this is an excellent wheatwine. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity yeast, dark/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the big ABV, with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish; not overly aggressive. Feels like a lot of Chinook/Columbus hops. Great balance of rich malts and fruity yeast complexity; with a great dank/earthy hop presence/balance. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example as expected of the breweries. Definitely some noticeable oxidation, but not overwhelming. Aged just as well as any American style barleywine should.

OG bomber batch poured into a mikkeller star teku appears a dark copper with yellowish khaki cap that fades leaving spotty lace.
Aroma is toasted to caramel malt with slight mineral inclusion and fruity alcohol. Faint oxidation.
Taste has some fruity alcohol upfront blended with dusty grain, minerals and faded hop bitterness. Some sherry and cardboard oxidation in the aftertaste.
Medium in body with modest carbonation. Would have been interesting to know what this was like fresh.

Bottle: Poured a deep dirty cloudy brown color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma of heavy residual sugars with some dry grainy notes is quite intense. Taste is also dominated by heavy amounts of residual sugars with some dry grainy malt of wheat. Body is full with limited filtration and medium carbonation with light warming alcohol notes. A bit intense to drink in large quantities but interesting nonetheless.

Vintage bottle received in trade from MeadMe, thanks for the opportunity!
Pours a slightly hazy deep copper color with a smallish khaki head that persists for a while before leaving some lace on the sides. Aroma is sweet with bready, honey sweet, sugary malt. Lots of caramel and brown sugar, sweet orange and a bit of spice and earthy hop aroma. Surprisingly little alcohol aroma for a beer at almost 11%. The flavor is sweet and malty up front with a ton of brown sugary caramel. The alcohol shows itself in the flavor and provides a whole lot of warming on the way down. Deep orange and light sweet fruity flavors along with a hint of spice and earthy hop round out the flavor nicely. Very faint sherry like oxidation but not nearly as present as the oatgoop last night. Medium to thick body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a sweet almost syrupy mouthfeel. This one's holding up fairly well, I enjoyed the hell out of it, like an old Barleywine at Mike's house in Feb.
