A: Pours a hazy gold with a creamy, pillowy white head.
S: Much gentler on the nose than many American DIPAs. Scents reminiscent of cream, caramel, pine, navel orange, lemon, and grapefruit are readily apparent.
T: Citrusy and herbal with notes of cream, biscuits, caramel, honey, navel orange, lemon, grapefruit, pine, spruce, sage, and peppermint. The finish is bitter and complex with notes of citrus, mint, and pine.
M: Medium bodied, velvety, and smooth. Carbonation is very discreet and unobtrusive. Unbelievably drinkable for the style.
O: As much as I like this beer, I do find it necessary to restrain from giving it anything higher than a B+. I simply do not feel this compares favorably to Three Floyds' other DIPAs, though that does not mean that this is a bad beer. As a matter of fact, if it were produced by any other brewery, it would be an outstanding effort. So, after all is said and done, Apocalypse Cow is a near outstanding DIPA that is a half-step below Three Floyds' other takes on the style.

Pours a dark gold with full off white head. Aroma is nice with some fruity citrus hops, a touch of bread, and some sweetness from the lactose sugars. Not a fan of alcohol showing itself in IPA's and there is a ton present here, makes it hard for me to notice much else in the flavor like the citrus, florals, or sugars. A creamy mouthfeel. Overall, maybe a result of my personal preferences but the alcohol presence in this was a killer for me. I typically stay away from any (I)IPA that is 10% abv or greater because of the heat they can bring, but gave this a chance because of the inclusion of the lactose sugars had me curious. Bad choice on my part, not a fan at all and dumped most of my bottle.
