22oz bomber poured into a chalice.
Many thanks to Tizzod, Midwestern beer guide...
Drank this with pork-bacon burgers with camembert and gorgonzola, specifically designed to pair with a saison.
This brew pours an orangey amber raising a small quickly receding head. Active carbonation is apparent. The aroma is stunning, delicious and unique; the chamomile scent, if that is what it is, is fruity and herbal, with some cinnamon and nutmeg in there, and sweet candi sugar malt as well...just a hint of band-aid. This is one of those empty bottles you keep wanting to smell.
The taste really follows through and is consistent with the expectations raised by the nose. A balanced sweetness, herbal tang, totally delicious and very successful effort at the elusive saison style. Thoroughly impressive!
