Poured from a bomber into a Duvel glass. RIP La Fin Du Monde glass, who was broken during a rinse for this beer :(
The appearance is a hazy golden-orange shade with a one inch cream colored head forming on top. It sticks around for a few minutes then is replaced by a cap of about 1/4".
Aromas of hay, candy sugar, bubble gum, peppery phenols, and some earthiness with an overall yeastiness like bread. So glad they didn't add the same hops as their other beers...
Taste is fantastic. Perfect balance between complex and not complex at all. I get some sweetness intially but it is quickly replaced by the phenols and breadiness with a hint of bubblegum. Earthy hops round out the finish intermingling with the phenols.
Mouthfeel is excellent, super creamy, with a medium body. Could be lighter for the style but it just feels so nice.
This is a really good Saison and it's refreshingly not loaded with C-hops as expected from Three Floyds. I'd say it's a pretty traditional Saison but perhaps without the same body as one from France or Belgium.
