Big boy served in a DFH IPA glass.
A - Pours a cloudy burnt orange with one finger of white head. Average retention with nice lacing.
S - Citrus and apricots jump right out followed by pine, honey bread, sweet alcohol.
T - Pine, citrus, and floral hops, bitter up front, there's a tangy citrus/fruit note in there that is very pronounced. Lots of apricot with spicy tropical fruit gaining ground as it warms. Spearmint shows up along with spicy greens. Light but sturdy malts underneath blend right in added a candy sweetness. Pine and citrus continue with a peppery bitterness but the bitterness dies down toward the finish.
M - Moderate creamy carbonation, light side of medium body,
The yeast throws out some odd esters and the bitterness is all upfront, dying gradually toward the finish. Heavy spearmint really and spicy greens really add to the diversity of this beer.
I like that this isn't the(run of the mill)DIPA. There's a mix of flavors that make this stand out among it's peers. Try to get your hands on one of these.
