look: 3.75 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace leaving some light stringy and speckled lacing.
The smell started off with a big burst of sweet and bitter grapefruit rind. Floral hops play in with the previously stated hops and then a light caramel maltiness comes to balance nicely.
The taste was bitter initially and then the sweetness of the malts come in to balance nicely. A light lingering aftertaste of the grapefruit hops and the malts lead into the finish.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a slight sessionable feel about it. Carbonation runs good for the DIPA style allowing the malts to stick to my tongue adequately.
Overall, old school DIPA, yup, I'd say so and you know, I don't mind it at all for me. Its good. Thanks Kayley.

A - Cloudy burnt orange. One finger of white head with mild carbonation that left spotty lace and a film of retention.

S - Dank, lemon, grain. Seemed quite mild.

T - Dank notes again. Big fruits, a bit medicinal, oranges, tangerine, peach.

M - Decent bitterness, but low for the style IMO. Good carbonation, medium to full body.

O/D - A surprising letdown for the style. Odd medicinal note and nothing that really stood out as world class. Wasn't boozy at all but just didn't have anything to make it a standout.

Bottled on 10/13/15. 22oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy burnt orange with a touch of clarity; creamy white head that slowly falls leaving great retention and very sticky lacing. Some sediment/floaties. The aromas are floral and have caramel malts along with some pine notes. Some sweet citrus in the mix. The flavors are bold and spicy. Slightly warm but absolutely not boozy. Tons of fresh pine needles. Lots of pine resin and pine sap. Clearly pine seems to be the focus. Some orange zest in the mix. Alcohol basically goes unnoticed, although there are some enjoyable hints of it. Slightly spicy. The mouthfeel is awesome, just like all of FFF's beers. It's full-bodied and very creamy. Smooth and fluffy with moderate carbonation.

Not a huge fan of this hop profile, but it's still fun to drink. The craftsmanship is impressive, but it's not really worth the price of admission, in my opinion.

This may have been an older bottle because I couldn't find a bottle date, but very muted hops and far too malty for me. Chimera sabertooth was much better.

Pours a hazy golden orange color with a finger of white head.

Aroma is has a ton of orange characteristics: orange marmalade, tangerine, and orange peel. Also get apricot, slight pine, and ruby red grapefruit. Get the dextrose sugar, as the nose is quite sweet, yet I detect a dryness as well. The sugar adds a juicy element to the aroma that is responsible for the orange marmalade characteristic.

Taste starts with the juicy orange marmalade and apricot. Also get some of the grapefruit as you enter the middle. The beer has a big west coast-like dryness (almost reminiscent of white wine) that wipes out most of the dextrose sugar sweetness and brings in a significant amount of orange peel and pine resin bitterness in the finish.

Medium body with a crisp and creamy mouthfeel. A pretty oily finish from the hops.

This is a classic DIPA offering from the hop masters at Floyds that I've had many times. No question this is their take on a west coast DIPA and it is a good one.

Beautiful orange color with fairly large head that recedes relatively quickly. Nose is sweet with bitter citrus - maybe tangerine? Taste follows - starts off sweet, with bitter citrus and a hint of piney dankness. The mouthfeel is on point with fairly high carbonation, and the alcohol comes through in a pleasant way. Overall, a great west-coast style IIPA that falls just a bit short in balance compared to the very best.

Pours a deep honey color. As a big floral aroma with a touch of malts & sweetness. Huge piney hop profile up front. Followed by a resiny funky flavor that finishes with a little sweet and smooth. Overall a great IIPA, really enjoyable

Pale amber with puffy loose off white head. 3.75
Big sweet orange Swedish fish nose. 4
Thin caramel, then lots of stewed orange, papaya, and light pine hops. 4
Lemon sorbet comeback and clean citrus oil linger.
Halfway to medium, slight cling, salty, some oil. 4

Salty creamy caramel notes, piles of IBUs, specks of fruit and pine - all the pieces are there. And yet... Suffers in the context of a big tasting; it might be better on a different day. But it also could just be over-hyped. 4

Many will agree, 3 Floyds has a number of offerings that keep you coming back. Arctic Panzer Wolf is the 6th offering from FFF that I have tried, and I have to admit, it is now my favorite!

Pours a very thick frothy head, with a cloudy, gold/copper look, resembling an orange witbier.
The nose is perfect, with citrus and floral tones.
The taste is a mildly bitter, forward west coast style hop up front, with a perfect sweet malt to finish.
The feel is near perfect, leaving your palate craving for the next experience.

Looks like I'll have to make more frequent trips to my neighboring state of Indiana, since this is so limited to get in Ohio, but it will be worth it!

S: Piney hops, no citrus notes, sweet malt.

T: Pine hops in front, smooth, sweet malt undercurrent. Strong resiny pine hop at end.

M: Super creamy, medium body, low carbonation.

One of the best offerings I have had from FFF. Acquired 2 x 22oz bottles from awdturboiv in one of a few recent trades with him, and loved this beer after having wanted to get my hands on it for a while. Great example of the style, at least as far as how the flavor profile that I prefer for a double. Juicy flavor, hop forward like I like my beers, with just a bit of a bitter finish to it, but not in a bad way. It got better and better as I worked my way through the bomber. This beer gets overshadowed by some of FFF's more well known IPAs, which is fine by me. More for me then!

For a little back story, the sender might recognize this, I received this beer by playing off Cleveland's foolish desperation for a major sports title. I had the Warriors, he had the Cavs, I have the beer!

Awesome beer. The head is a beautiful white with orange tint. The body is a cloudy orange.

I'm hit with orange and a little bit of apple on the nose. It tastes like some combination of orange creamsicle/freeze pop. I've had Zombie Dust, Permanent Funeral, and now this from 3 Floyds, and this is my favorite of the three. There's a little bitterness on the finish, but that becomes less noticeable as you drink it.

It's actually pretty light on the tongue. The body compliments the juicy flavor very nicely and the ABV is masked!

I'll be looking for this again!

On a semi-related note, what's up with these labels?

Look - Bright, light yet cloudy copper. Lots of head. Medium bubble size. Not a lot of lacing in my cup.

Smell - Malt. Floral. Citrus. Pine.

Taste - Orange icecream. Malt. Pine and bitter. Grapefruit.

Feel - No carbonation overload. Bitter on tongue but well masked. Creamy and medium.

Overall - It is bitter but not too bitter. It is sweet but not too sweet. I keep saying I need to have a side by side taste test but I still say Cimmerian is the best.

A little more sweet/malty than I prefer. Great aroma, with heavy tropical fruits. Pineapple? Maybe starfruit? Taste and mouth feel is just a smidge heavy.

Lots of floral, spice, and hops from this Imperial IPA from 3 Floyds. The nose of this beer is amazing when pouring it into a pint glass from a 22oz bomber. On the first taste I got slot of fruit throughout as well, getting hints of apricot, peaches, and oranges on top of floral out the ass and the typical hop blast expected from a good craft IIPA.

Beautiful label, definitely would stand out on a shelf.
A: dark amber with a thick, white head.
S: Malty caramel like sweetness, cinnamon spiciness.
T: Similar to nose, malty forward DIPA, hops are fairly balanced. Hop kick mid sip.
M: Medium carbonation, slight bitterness, hops prickly to tongue.
O: Fairly balanced DIPA, I thought the maltiness meshed pretty well with the hops.

IMHO this is FFFs most West Coast like style DIPA. Very bitter very hopy. Not the normal citrus/tropical notes from most their IPA/DIPAS. Very nice beer though

Poured cold into a tulip glass - could not make out the bottling date, but should be pretty fresh.
Look = 5.0 Pours a cloudy opaque golden orange color with 2.5 fingers of slightly off white head which fades to a strong ring on the top of the beer. Lace is dense and incredibly sticky throughout the drink. So much so that after the last sip a layer of lace stuck to the bottom of the glass.
Smell = 5.0 Very intense fragrance. Hops on top of hops. Pines and grass, citrus. As it warms sweeter notes come out giving the smell more balance. Incredible.
Taste = 4.0 Pine and citrus - hops all over the place. Very bitter on the back end with a bitter finish and a hint of alcohol. The bitterness sticks in the back of the throat until the next sip.
Feel = 4.0 Medium to full bodied, not at all watery, a little syrupy. High carbonation, stings the mouth a little.
Drinkability = 4.0 Big time DIPA, 9% ABV and 100 IBUs! Yet I had to finish off the bomber after the first glass.
Overall = 4.4 Terrific DIPA - solid across the board but the thick lace and powerful aroma really stand out.

First review on Beer Advocate, since I lost my beer journal. Happy to be here! The big hops and pine are impressively balanced. Bitter citrus would be overwhelming if not for the pine and 9% ABV. Personally love to hate on FFF whenever possible (Beer should only get credit for being good, not for being from a certain brewery) but impossible here. A great beer.

Bomber into a snifter. Big aroma on this one, like many other 3F beers. I could smell this one as I was pouring it. Pours a cloudy copper with 1 finger's width of slightly off-white foam. Tons of carbonation all the way to the last sip. Nose is very floral and grassy-pine, grapefruit, and peaches. Medium weight and awesomely creamy mouthfeel. This thing drinks like a 6%'er. Slight bitterness up front on the taste, and a strong grapefruit presence. Lots of malt on the back end. Very well balanced. The aftertaste is a bit grassy/grainy with some lingering bittersweet flavor.

Overall, another impressive beer by the boys from Munster. This one is almost as good as Cimmerian sabertooth Berzerker, which I gave a 5. It all comes down to personal taste, of course, but this one was just a little too muted for me to consider it worthy of a 5. Still an awesome, awesome, awesome beer. I enjoyed every sip.

Served on tap at Mikkeller Bar Bangkok.
Hazy amber with an aggressively hoppy nose. Lots of citrus and pine, with an unfortunate underlying staleness. A big beer with big flavor. I do wonder about the freshness? Syrupy sweet malt with candied lemon and a piney bitter finish that's - on the whole - rather balanced just goes on and on. A great beer, but not a great DIPA.

A: Big, cloudy, orange-gold. Unfiltered, and i can’t see any carbonation. A finger of off white head, and some random lacing.

S: Cereal like Shreddies in milk, orange, pineapple, and pine needles. My nose is detecting alcohol, but well hidden.

T: Cereal. Again Shreddies, orange marmalade, a floral quality like orange blossoms and honey.

M: Thick, syrupy body, a fair amount of foamy carbonation. A pleasant bitter aftertaste that’s not overwhelming.

O: Excellent brew. Found this one in Chicago at Whole Foods, brought it to China where I am now drinking it on March 10th, 2015. It just keeps getting better as you drink it. It has all the right qualities for this style, yet is smooth and amazingly well crafted.

Bomber poured into plastic cup. Hazy orange with some foam and lots of lacing. Aroma is citrus hop, pine, and a hint of caramel malt sweetness. Taste is similar with brief biscuit and caramel sweetness replaced quickly by pine resin and citrus rind bitterness. Oily mouthfeel, moderate carbonation, dry finish.
