Poured from a bottle dated 2/24/14—I know, almost 3 months old—into an IPA glass.

Look: on the paler side, especially for an IIPA. Very clear, well-carbonated yellow.

Smell: very unusual. I really can't put a name to what I'm picking up here. Not really fruity, piney, grassy, oniony, dank... The best way to describe it is that it's like the clean, bright smell I associate with cilantro or dill, but applied to some super-sweet, slightly citrusy tropical fruit.

Taste: pretty much follows the smell. More straightforwardly sweet and citric, but still elusive. Definite wood (oak/cedar) notes in there as well. Not really getting much bitterness at all.

Feel: decent. Medium body, good carbonation, fairly dry.

Overall: not the most unique IPA I've tried, but still pretty unusual, and very enjoyable.

Bomber dated 5/5/14 poured into teku

A: an electric, radiant golden orange; looks great

S: lots of sticky pine resin; candied tropical citrus peel; mangos, pineapple, and apricots; the aromas are off-the-wall intense and incredible. I wanna drink that smell

T: i got more of the tropical fruits than citrus upfront, followed by a nice light sweetness, and ending with a crisp, refreshing shot of dry bitterness; the 100 ibus are all over the place; the taste was little disappointing only because of how great the nose is

M: lightly syrupy on the tongue, but nice carbonation keeps things nice and refreshing

O: it's scary how crushable this beer is; the ABV is completely hidden. Fantastic aroma, nice mouthfeel, and great flavor.

A - Dark orange, cloudy, with a moderate white head, some mild lacing.

S - Big fruit notes, grapefruit and mango, zest and flesh, but also some mild malt sweetness, and an undercurrent of pine. As the beer warms, moves to a stronger alcohol note and heavier pine, but the fruit is still a major player.

T - Strong fruit, like the nose, but more heavily citrus, with lemon along with the grapefruit, fading into the malt hit in the middle, with the taste of spun sugar mingling with the ongoing citrus, with pine notes and a big bitter wallop in the close.

M - Drying is moderate, and resin survives long after the last swig.

O - Perhaps not quite as brutal as the name and artwork suggest, but still a strong, uncompromising foray into the heart of hopness. A delicious DIPA.
