Much love to cstromberg57 for providing me with my very first FFF offering. Poured into a pint glass. No readable freshness date.
A- Pours a medium amber color with a 1/2 inch of white head. Plenty of lacing as the head unwinds to a 1/8 inch ring around the edge of the glass and spotty surface foam.
S- Sweet, fruity, yet pungently grassy hop aroma AND cereal grain sweetness in the tail-end. Also known as having your cake and eating it too.
T- Intensely grassy hops smack down on the palate and cause tingles of bitter to spread out across the tongue. Definitely a powerful taste but has that restrained quality that other stellar IPAs have in common (Two-hearted to name one). As sweet as it is hoppy with the just-right amount of malt presence holding everything in place. Notes of pineapple and grapefruit.
M- Prickly and active with medium carbonation. Also quite full in body and wetness.
O- Now I see what all the hype's about. One of my new Top 5 IPAs for sure. Definitely cannot improve anymore.

(on tap at Three Floyds, this past Monday - served in a 20oz pint)
A: light amber liquid, clear... creamy head, killer silken lace
S: first impression: b.o.... then: wildflowers, citrus zest and oily mist... fairly fragrant, earthy, but not explosive (the glass)
T: aggressively citrus-bitter... smooth malt... mostly spicy, resiny hops... fair amount of fruity-sweet resins... delicate grainy toast (NOT toasty grain) in the aftertaste
M: lightly gritty but clean, smooth flow, compact body... bit of a numbing sensation from the alcohol and bitterness in tandem
O: basically an IPA - the fact that they're calling it a pale ale, while it may be true relative to their hoppy beers, is a bit silly... it's an IPA... nothing out of the ordinary, flavor-wise, but it has a nice crisp attack and is undeniably, notably, solidly made

Enjoyed at the brewery in Munster. It was served with a light yellow color and a medium head that had fair retention. The smell was largely fruit, and especially tropical fruit. The taste, as others have said, more resembles that of an IPA as there isn't a whole lot of malt to balance it, but the fruit flavors are great, and it starts off sweet (but not too sweet) and does finish with some bitterness. It's moderately carbonated and goes down very easy. It's very, very similar to White Rajah (which is an IPA) in both smell and taste, but the mouthfeel and color are slightly different. Overall, this is excellent. Yes, it is definitely overhyped as it is not by any means earth shattering, but it is worth seeking.
