Nice golden amber color with good carbonation and a nice head, and a little dusty sediment at the end.
Crazy fresh citrus aromas like tangerine and blood orange, plus a little sage/resin, and a balanced malt sweetness.
Flavors carry the same characters from the hops as the aroma. Malt backbone is a clean pale malt body plus a touch of something richer, maybe Munich or a gentle blend of light crystal malts. Great balance for all the hops.
Mouthfeel seems a little light, until I remind myself it's an IPA, not a DIPA. Carbonation plays well on the palate. Halfway through the bottle some hop oil stickiness starts around the edge of the tongue.
Altogether an astonishingly delicious beer. The intensity of the hops reminds me of Pliny the Younger. The malt character is superbly crafted to balance the hops, with a touch of richness. Really well crafted.
