I had never had a Zombie Dust before and was pretty psyched to try one for the first time last night. One of our local enthusiasts brought this to the bottle shop to share and man that smell smacked me right in the face the moment he opened it. I've always loved hops but this was an exception. Wish FFF made its way to NC but I guess it wouldn't be as special if it was common

Served chilled in a Duvel tulip

A - an aggressive pour yields a 2 finger white head. Color is a copper orange

S - loads of citrus up front, a bit of malt to follow

T - sweet and citrus initially, followed by a burst of bitter hops that seems to dominate, but then finishes with a heck of a malt backbone with the hops still lingering through to the end

M - Smooth, not too carbonated, no alcohol to speak of, medium feel

O - So glad I finally got a hold of some of this one. Very complex pale ale, I wish this was available locally

Graciously given to me by Rochefort10nh, thanks man..

The appearance shows a nearly clear deep golden color with a frothy white head. Loads of lacing cling to the glass and tight rows of bubbles flow freely to the top.

Aroma is wonderful and full of citra hops followed by caramel malt and faint biscuit. Smells like a tropical buffett.

The taste is full of pineapple, grapefruit, lemon peel and a hint of caramel. Full of citra flavor but balanced nicely with sweetness. Very tastey, I could drink this all day.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a soft carbonation feel. Starts out smooth and creamy but in the end the true feel of bitter/dryness takes charge and begins it's assault on the tastebuds.

Overall an excellant example of the style and one I'm happy to review. My first experience with this beer was with Heady topper and Abner so my tastebuds were fried and didn't give it a fair shake. If you dig citra hops, than this ones for you. Definitely one of my favorite APA's to date. Nice job!

Citra hops, nice medium body, dark golden color...a very nice beer. That said, I dont see why this is #6 at the time of this review. Its a top tier beer, but top 10? not IMO. Ill get this whenever im in IN/IL but I wont be trading for this. Very tasty though. Glad to check it off the list. Artwork on the bottle is awesome. The BA picture doesnt do it justice at all.

Nose up front of pineapple and orange zest. The taste is citrusy sweet with tangerines fading into lemon and finishing with slightly grapefruit notes. This is without a doubt the best pale ale I've ever had. For me pales are usually too mellow and bland but this guy could stack up to any IPA just without the bitter bite.
