A huge thanks to sblickem for sending me a few of these. Been wanting to try this one forever.

12 oz. bottle into a Duvel glass. Pours a light gold and settles a clear amber in the glass. Excellent carbonation. A semi-aggressive pour yielded about 2 fingers of sticky, white foam. Very aromatic - one of those beers you can smell from a couple feet away. Tropical fruit, citrus, pine, and hops on the nose. Medium-light weight, and quite smooth on the mouthfeel. There's a slight hoppy bitterness up front with a strong malt backbone. Notes of tropical fruit are present, but are somewhat muted by the hops and malt. Fairly constant taste throughout. Finishes crisp and clean, and leaves a malty sweetness and a slight hop zest behind for the aftertaste.

Overall, a very good pale ale that's unquestionably drinkable and super tasty. While I don't quite understand all the hype surrounding this particular beer, it does offer a great balance and drinkability that a lot of other pale ales fail to achieve. Damn good.

Taste – Taste is hoppy. Similar to the smell, but a little bitter.

Mouthfeel – Light carbonation, lightly creamy, with a bitter aftertaste.

Drinkability – Good, but a little bitter.

Outstanding beer, consistently great, if you've never tasted you should. And it's easier to find than most beers this highly rated.

I see what the hype is about. This did not disappoint. Amazing fruity aroma with citrus, pineapple, and mango followed by a bitter after taste. Medium light body with good carbonation. Would definitely drink this again.

Great nose of citrus tones especially the sweet smell of a large ripe Texas grapefruit. The taste brings back memories of breakfasts at my grandparents that started with serrated spoons and grapefruit. Passion fruit in the middle. Perfect balance of hop goodness! Love this beer.

I am not a fan of IPAs, but this one is crazy good. So much fruit on the nose, and so damn juicy.

I had my first Zombie Dust a few afters after having my first Pliny and it's hard to say which one I like better since they are both such excellent beers. I think I would give the slight nod to Pliny, but I would take either or and be extremely happy. I realize Zombie Dust is a Pale Ale, but it seriously tastes like an IPA to me

I understand the hype it's a really good pale but.. isn't this an ipa?
A: citrus, mango, and a slight grainy sweetness behind all those flavoring hops.
A: Burnt orange with wispy off white head which dissapates quickly but keeps a wonderful carb. Very cloudy but that's to style.
F: Low hop bitterness @ 1st then mango sweetness, slight mild piney stickiness, and finished with a clean malty backbone. Aftertaste is bittering hops with some lingering mango flavor.
M: Light to medium light body, good carb, perfect to style.
O: Again, I understand the hype and recommend everyone to drink and rate this beer, hell I like it more than Pliny. But living in SD there are so many good pale ales and ipa's that are easily accessible I'll stick with them. An awesome beer but won't be actively searching this one out again.

Drank 18 days from bottling date, served at ~40F. Served in a small snifter.

A: Pours a dark orange/gold color. Half a finger of head that fades somewhat quickly. Not a lot of apparent carbonation. Nice see through without any cloudiness.
S: Orange citrus, pineapple, grapefruit, malty sweetness. Some pine in the background. Faint herbal notes.
T: Grapefruit/orange upfront, not a lot of bitterness. Bready/malty sweetness takes over in the middle mouth and finishes with touches of pine and a faint bitterness.
M: Low to medium mouthfeel. Drinks very easily without much bite from the carbonation or the hops. Dry finish but a lingering aftertaste.
O: Very good to excellent American Pale Ale. I do not agree that this is in the weight class of the elite beers, but it is worth seeking out as a great take on the style. I like the appearance better than Pseudo Sue, but I prefer the juicy hop character you get with Sue a lot more. There's a bit of a disparity between user ratings and the Bros, and I think it's probably somewhere in between. Its awesome to have the luxury of comparing top tier beers from across the country.

Pours a cloudy orange-amber color with a decent head of white perched atop. Retention is, at best, decent. Starts at nearly an inch but drops to a thickish film within a minute or so leaving very little lacing scattered around the glass.
Smell is a great balance of floral/herbal hops and malt and a hint of citrus. Not wide-ranging but balanced.
Taste is similar, strong hops (floral & herbal), good malt, some pepper and citrus, mostly grapefruit. Balance is good.
A bit too hoppy for a pale ale, but perfectly normal for a non-"West Coast" style IPA. Body is a bit over medium, effervescence is restrained but not muted. Some warming with a dry finish. Quite quaffable. Get some and enjoy.

I'm sure I'm going to get some hate for this, but here goes. Bottled 29 April, enjoyed 2 June.

Look: Hazy Straw. Nothing wrong here.

Smell: Very fresh, nice for the heat, but not really any fruit notes.

Taste: a bit bready. Good hop presence, but a bitter finish that lingers longer than I would expect for a pale.

Feel: clean and crisp.

This is a fine pale, but when you take in to consideration its rarity versus it's taste (not talking cost) it honestly isn't anything to write home about. If someone offered me one over a bud light, sure I'd take it. But there is a lot of good stuff being produced here in Ohio that I don't have to wait in line for to get that is on the same level. Another good beer from FFF, but definitely one that I would rather trade away than trade for.

This beer is a different animal on tap than it is from the bottle. On tap and fresh at the brewery it's one of the best IPAs (APA) I've ever had. Bright, citrusy and a nice hop bitterness. In the bottle, it's just not nearly as good even when fresh.
