Poured into a tulip, this pale showcases a beautiful and opaque shade of orange. Topped by a thick, bone white head that is porous and quite creamy. Lacing is abundant and carbonation is minimal.
Heavenly. Up front you're greeted by a blast of earthy grasses and pine, followed by an encore of floral notes a plenty of citrus and tropical fruit. Pineapple, orange, tangerine, and mango amongst hints of kiwi, strawberry and even peach. It's a sweet, well orchestrated symphony of aromatic bliss.
Initially quite dry, until the tropical fruit the nose detected rush in to save the day. Alcohol is very noticeable here, but it's not overbearing. Hops are present from beginning to end, but they are never over-power the subtle malts. Nicely balanced.
A decent amount of carbonation is present in this light to medium-bodied pale. It's crisp and surprisingly refreshing. The finish is beautiful - it leads you to believe it will finish dry, but at the very last second, you're hit with refreshing hydration.
This a fine example of the American Pale Ale style, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite styles. It's almost hoppy enough to pass for an IPA, but balanced enough to enjoy multiple in one sitting. Do yourself a favor and see what all the hype is about.
