3 week old bottle poured into a tulip shaped glass. No head to speak of, no lacing either. Nice hazy, light copper color. Smells great for a pale, citrus and melon, kind-of-a muted Sculpin. Taste is near perfect, the only other pale at this level is "Mo". Good carbonation, very smooth finishes nicely. Overall, this is everything I hoped it would be, and rarely can i make such a statement.

Appearance of a nice pale ale - bright golden orange, bright white foamy head with some tinges of yellow. Aroma of big citrus, pine, and some resin. This particular batch has a cannabis dankness of pine and grapefruit, which is very nice. Some biscuit, bready malt comes through more than anticipated. Taste is vibrant and well balanced - orange, grapefruit, pine, resin, some malt.

About as good a pale ale can be - tons of flavor for the size of the beer.

First, a shout out to Leiting for the two sixes I received in trades.

One of my favorite beers. A nice citrus nose, and a hint of honey, very pleasant. Citrus hops, grapefruit and maybe a little melon or mango, and honey again, with a bit of maltiness, and not overly bitter aftertaste. A well balanced ale. Bonus points for the sweet artwork. Deserving of the ratings it receives, and not ridiculously priced for such a great beer. This APA presents as an IPA. Glad I was lucky enough to get some to New England.

A: Hazy burnt orange, solid velvety-looking head with great retention. Lacing is pretty good. The body has all kinds of particulates in it (made with real zombie dust??), but they add to the appearance- they look like glitter. A solid stream of bubbles wafts up from the center of the glass, with a few other individual bubbles around the periphery. In short, immaculate.

S: A wide array of fruits, from orange to mango to pineapple, with some softer sweetness to tame it. I want to say there's something biscuity as well. Clear as heck, but the aroma fades a little too quickly.

T: Again, wide array of fruits with moderate pine, good bitterness that is balanced beautifully with mild sweetness. The balance between the two really is phenomenal; they know they have the hop bitterness, they don't need to prove anything by not taming it with malts. Finish is nice, the pine comes through more, and it is lasting; I can taste it on my breath minutes after my last sip.

M: Creamy, but crisp and lively with carbonation. Somewhere between medium and full-bodied.

O: OK, fine, this beer really is that good. Everything about it is a step above the rest- fantastic and unique appearance, exceptional balance between bitterness and sweetness AND showing the true potential that hops have besides 'citrus and pine' (other breweries take note), and somehow making a non-abrasive but refreshing mouthfeel. Congrats, Three Floyds, you've won me over. Now up your distribution, because I don't want to drive an hour out of the way for more.

First off - I had to order this online cuz it ain't available here on the Left Coast.

Aroma: out of this world - strong citrus, pineapple - akin to a hopped fruit salad (all Citra)
Mouth feel: creamy, light very easy drinking, perfect carbonation for the style
Taste: Sweet hop forward, malty in the middle, nice clean dry citrus bitter finish - nothing offensive to the taste buds (this might actually be a good beer for those who are afraid to try hoppy beers). A very unique pale ale to say the least, very balanced. Alcohol is almost non existent
Overall: an excellent pale ale - worth the extra effort to buy online
(Note: I am brewing a ZD recipe I found online so I am hoping to replicate this in the comforts of my own home)

update - my homebrew was dead on! I called it the "Zombie Dust Clone - Three Droids Brewing"

Poured in to a tulip glass. 1/2 inch of off white head. Beautiful copper orange, just slightly cloudy. Smell not very dominate. Very California with citrus piney flavor, Mouthfeel just right. Slight carbonation. Long, hoppy aftertaste. As good as it gets. 3 Floyds rules. I am having a hard time lately drinking beer from any other brewery.

Just scored 2 cases. Re-review same as before. Worth the hoopla. One thing I notice with this batch is long dry aftertaste/finish. One of my favorite beers.
