Three Floyds

Zombie Dust sports a polished brass body with good clarity. Carbonation swims to the surface from all over the pint glass. A two finger, foamy white head forms on the pour that eventually becomes creamy and settles to a fat finger throughout the entire drink. Solid lacing is left up and down the glass.

Pungent citrusy and tropical hop notes explode from the glass along with a nice resinous bite. Clementines, pineapple, and papaya all have their place with that big resinous quality bringing up the rear in larger amounts as it warms. A mild cracker crust maltiness, that's barely discernable, allows the hop profile to shine.

This is the freshest bottle of Zombie Dust I've ever had and the resinous hop quality is huge whereas the citrus/tropical character tends to dominate when a couple weeks old. Resinous up front with a gripping bitterness. The citrus kicks in midway through and leads throughout the swallow. Tropical notes linger after the swallow. Great beer!

Mouthfeel is spot on. Medium bodied with a light feel thanks to the moderate carbonation. There's a nice velvety body with gripping bitterness on the inside of the cheeks.

Zombie Dust is a beer I never get tired of. Every time I have one it continues to be exciting and delicious. I can't recommend this beer highly enough. It's been tough to find over the last 7 or 8 months though. I had to go to the brewery to pick this up and it was flying out of the door.

My perfect beer. First, 3 Floyds appearance and smell are consistently great. Zombie Dust takes the taste and mouthfeel beyond their other great beers. I love bitter beers with little sweetness. ZD has a consistent taste from start to finish. It is also one of the only beers that tastes the same whenever I have it.

Big thanks to my buddy Andy for bringing me two
Of these and two gumballheads straight from the brewery.

A - Pours a very carbonated golden, orange looking brew. Bubbles all over the glass racing up to a thick, large bubbly off white head. Settles slowly with good lines of lacing everywhere.

S - Whoa citra!! Big citra hop blast in the nose. A bit of pine sapp, and pine needles. I pick up some caramel malt in here for the balance.

T - Yea citra hops are definitely the strong point in here. But there's also a juicy mango fruit flavor in here like biting into the ripe pulp itself. Delicious. Hops are slightly bitter but still very fresh in this. And some piney sapp in the nose is here in flavor combined with some caramel malt.

M - Light bodied brew with tickling high carbonation. Sweetness mixed with hops effortlessly throughout the mouth, and ever so easy going down. Incredibly quaffable.

O - This beer deserves any praise that it gets. Honestly the best of the "pale ale" category excluding the "I" by miles. I would drink this all day and would probably eat someone's brains if it meant getting this beer sent to PA.

Pours like a dark apple juice with a beautiful two finger head and great lacing all the way down the glass.

Smell is of fresh pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit, and other fresh citrus fruits. Nice malt backbone but not overpowering. One of the freshest smelling beers I've had. Truly amazing. Some alcohol presents itself as the beer warms a bit but this beer barely lasted long enough to warm.

Taste is amazing. Fresh citrus as the beer hits my tongue. In the middle the hops begin to settle on your tongue. Just enough pine taste with some grapefruit. The finish is piney bright hops and a touch of alcohol. Very very good.

Perfect, creamy carbonation. Light enough to drink a few but not watered down. Keeps the flavors alive in your mouth.

This beer is perfect. Easily my favorite beer I've tried so far. Just phenomenal.
