Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a hazy dark orange with a finger of foamy white head. The aroma has a lot of citrus and some balancing malts. The taste is similar to the aroma, with some more pronounced floral notes. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied with good carbonation, and is very smooth. The hops are present, but this beer is not very bitter and is clean and crisp.

Overall, a very nice APA from 3F, just wish I had access to more - it is high quality.

A surprising find in my go-to beer store.
Pale, chill-hazed gold in color, with a big cap of bone-white foam.
Aroma-big boquet of hops right out of the bottle-super fragrant juicy Citra hops- Amazing!
Taste-Big onrush of juicy citrus hops-white grapefruit with sugar, tangerine notes. A delicate malt bill just barely balances the equation, ending in a citrus-rind and slightly sweet/dry finish.
Outstanding hop aroma and flavor have this hop-head in head-over-heels love. Cries out for a spicy food pairing. A must try for all hop lovers. Embrace the undead!

One of the best beers i have ever had. Totally delivers on the reputation.

Goods : Aroma, Taste, Feel, quaffability.

Appearance: Poured from a 12 oz bottle into snifter. Pale honey colored. Hazy. Few bubbles. Excellent lacing on the sides. Over one finger thick head of off white color. Decent standing.

Aroma: Very strong citrus and flowery aroma. Some wild weed like and grassy. Aroma is so inviting and strong that it puts a lot of IPAs to shame. Grape fruit, piney hops are dominant.
An aroma so strong that it mesmerizes you and never fades.

Taste: Very solid bitterness. Not overly bitter but gives a punch nonetheless. Strong mango presence. Built up on a good malt backbone that keeps the final bitterness totally at bay. Very well balanced example of craft brew.

Mouth feel : Smooth and without any astringency. Extremely easy beer to drink. Moderate carbonation, makes me have some burrps. Very oily and herbal mouth feel. Medium to slightly light body.

This is one beer that invites you to try it as soon as you pop open the bottle and then embraces you into its arms and takes you on a ride to wonderland. A brew i can drink all day without any issue and i would love to do so. So easy in fact that i drank 4 bottles in a go out of my first six pack. And that was when i have had tasting of over 30 beers of super high ABVs. Just pretty well done brew that is the epitome of craft brewing. Very solid aromatics at display and an equally good flavor.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tulip. Acquired in a trade from Surge1311. Thanks bud!

A- Pours a slightly hazy honey colored body with a generous off-white head that has some nice thick lacking.

S- Very juicy and tropical. In particular, grapefruit and pineapple.

T- Mango, citrus, caramel malt, and a subtle bitter hoppyness on the finish. Good balance. Finishes smooth.

M- Slightly watery, but very fitting medium-high carbonation.

I can see why this brew ranks as the #1 APA. It's extremely tasty and drinkable.

From: Binny's, Chicago - South Loop, IL
Date: None on bottle
Glass: Standard US pint glass

Zombie Dust is one beer that I feel lives up to the hype. There's an incredible amount of hoppiness compacted in this pale ale base, making this "extra pale ale" quite special if you like the taste of hops (and, in particular, Citra hops). The price is also quite decent at $12 per six-pack. After tasting this beer, I've realized that the concept of rating is worthless. While this is an excellent result of artistry, inspiration, and brewery production management science, it's not an APA that I'd want to drink all the time: Daisy Cutter, Burning River, St. Lupulin, and SN Pale Ale are all other staples I enjoy for other reasons (flavors, aromas, densities). I also need to thank the beer staff at Binny's South Loop for connecting me with their last six-pack from their personal stash, it was really much appreciated.

Pours a tall, 2.5cm head of off-white to beige foam that consists of small and medium-sized bubbles, with above average retention, lasting over two minutes. Head eventually falls to a thick ring around the glass and a large island of wispy residuum atop the beer's body. Lacing left is moderate: a few large random splashes of foam along the glass' perimeter. Body is a deep copper orange, mostly transparent, with mildly active carbonation. Light brings out the body's orange tints and brightens them substantially.

This beer is intensely aromatic, Three Floyds has likely taken the idea of pre-boil, post-boil, and dry hopping to new levels with this beer. The beer smells remarkably similar to an open packet of Citra hop pellets (with all that grapefruit, pineapple juice, mango, and hints of peach) mixed with fresh pale malt wort. In general, the smells tell you, "this is really deep and dank stuff."

Zombie Dust is a pale ale for someone who has a taste for citrus-inspired hops. The flavors are huge and sweet, full of citrus fruit salad that's been lightly touched with malt extract. Tasting opens with sweet pale malt base and hints of sweetened pineapple and grapefruit juice. Mid-palate is where the hop flavors truly shine, bringing out sweetened grapefruit juice, pineapple, mango, kiwi, and hints of peach, all with a medium-intensity bitterness. Back of palate picks up grapefruit, Meyer lemon rind, pineapple juice, and mango with modest bitterness. Aftertaste is quite bitter, with grapefruit and mildly sweet pineapple juice being the major flavors.

Beer is medium-light in body, with superbly gentle carbonation that never feels fizzy, but still manages to foam the beer up on the palate. The result is a smooth, foamy mouthfeel that's as enjoyable as the aromas and flavors. Closes quite dry, with little residual stickiness across the palate, which invites taking another sip.
