cmsimeur is a fucking awesome guy. He hooked me up with a 6 pack, shipped so ridiculously fast that I'm drinking my first bottle less than a week after it was bottled. Thank you, Chad.

Pouring a clear orange with a dense, off-white head with excellent retention and lacing, this beer looks great. The nose is just a great expression of the Citra hops. Fresh, vibrant, citrus hop character with some tropical fruit, orange blossoms and pine. Mildly floral as well. Not much malt character is present, but as it warms up, there is a little bread, caramel and a touch of sugar.

Like the nose, the palate is quite the riot. Exceptional balance between bittering and flavor hops, there's a wonderful amalgamation of tropical fruit (mango, papaya), ripe oranges and just a touch of pine. Just enough resin too, to amplify the fruity hops. Mild malt character is present, with a little bit of caramel and bread. As it warms up, the malt character comes out a little bit more, with a little sugar. Medium light in body with moderate but creamy in carbonation, this beer has a wonderful long-lasting finish with excellent balance between a clean bitterness, plenty of fruity hop flavor and a mild resin character. However, there's just a touch of chalkiness on the palate, especially on the finish, that makes the finish not quite as clean as I'd like. I wonder if it's the water profile or hop grassiness, but it does stand out. Quite quenching, this is a thoroughly enjoyable beer, though the alcohol is a little bit higher than it needs to be.

Not quite as good as Hoppy Birthday or Parking Violation, but this is very, very close. Exceptional, especially when this fresh. Highly recommended.

A - Pours a brilliant orange amber that is complete see-through. Nice, puffy 2.5 finger head that dissipates so slowly and leaves a good amount of wavy lacing.

S - Full nose of grapefruit, orange, and even a touch of pine. Actually a little kick of zest in for good measure. Just so slightly some bready malt.

T - It's a very full taste, but not especially hoppy like an IPA. It's interesting they were able to pull this off so well. Very floral and grassy with a good bit of grapefruit and citrus before it finishes with a final kick of resiny bitterness. Again, the taste isn't "in your face" like an IPA or DIPA, it sets in the background, lets the malt play a role, and provides a good hop balance.

M - Leaves the mouth a bit dry from the hop kick, but actually very full and robust.

Overall - Superb. Among the very best, if not the best, APA out there. I was wondering if someone would be able to pull off such a bold APA, but Three Floyds did. Simply delicious.

After downing DIPA's the past few weeks, it was nice to switch styles to a APA. First time having this beer thanks to a trade with qwertyiop.

A: Nice hazy orange hue with an IPA appearance. A little more hazy than the last APA I drank. Two finger creamy white head.

S: Unbelievable! So much citrus and floral notes. Smells hoppy, yet balanced.

T: Once again, FFF hit a homerun with this beer. Hops at first, followed by citrus, pine with a nice finish. Very drinkable!

M: Smooth and medium mouthfeel. Goes down very easy with a wonderful finish. Extremely light finish.

Overall one of the best beers I've had the chance to drink. My new favorite FFF beer, taking Alpha King's spot. Reminded me of a single American IPA, but not overly hoppy. One of the best of all time!

12oz. Bottle poured into a hop glass. Extra from StoutFest, much appreciated indeed!

Appearance: Golden, amber hued with a small cream head after a moderate pour. Luminous and inviting. Certainly errs more towards the appearance of a DIPA over a APA.

Smell: Bouquet blossoms with citrus and hoppy grass notes. Slight hint of light malt but primarily citrus, pineapple, grapefruit.

Taste: Initial taste is bitter, astringent citrus, grapefruit juice followed by creamy grass and pine notes. Copious amounts of hops, and an evident balance of lighter malts. The citrus resounds in the forefront exceptionally. The finish bitter, yet refreshing.

Mouthfeel: Creamy, full, astringent, no alcohol heat.

Thanks to a Tsauce2 who got a co-worker of mine a six pack from the 3floyds.

Poured from a bottle into a Sam Adams Pint glass

Zombie Dust has a glowing orange appearance. The head quickly dissipates and less than a millimeter of foam is left around the edge of the top of the beer.

The scents I've picked up from this beer include lots of citrus fruits, lemon, grapefruit, orange.

Taste is pretty good with only a slight touch of bitterness that doesn't linger long enough to throw off the overall taste of the brew. All the citrus components in the scent are there with the taste as well. The alcohol is hidden very well also.

Mouthfeel is easy going down, very smooth and velvety for an APA.

Overall- I enjoyed this brew but I didn't really find anything too incredibly special about it. I enjoy most of the beers this brewery puts out but all the hype I've heard about Zombie Dust just didn't live up to my expectations.

Had this one many months ago and didn't realize what it was at the time. Same buddy brought one last night to cards and surprising it may it home with me to review today!

Poured a dark amber gold that was fairly non-translucent and appeared to be totally filtered. A thin bone white lacey head faded to an inconsistent ring around the glass. First smells are amazing! A citrus punch with aromas of grapefruit, mango, tangerines and more! No malts in sight! The tastes reflect the smells with a nice citrusy bitterness. All hops! It's hard to believe this is only 6.2% abv. It seems a bit heavier... in a good way. It's crazy to think that this was even better when it was fresh because probably a year later it's nothing short of awesome! A must try.

Enjoy!

With a fresh bottle of this brew in hand (2012 bottling), I noticed it poured a light/medium amber color. The great citrus hop flavor is definitely intact! Amazing. Haven't have a PA yet that beats this one.

Cheers!
