Poured from the bottle into a pint glass.

A: Orangish color, about a half finer of white head that disappears rather quickly. Not as much lacing as Dreadnaught.

S: Hops, Citrus, Grapefruit and other tropical smells.

T: I had to take a couple sips of this to figure this out. It's certainly well balanced, the tropical fruits and hops go together perfect. However this particular type of hop I'm not as huge of a fan of. While they mesh well and finish clear, the flavors arent as promounced as I would have liked.

M: Light, good carbonation - very crisp.

O: It's definitely a good APA and for the price, I wouldnt disagree that it's the best in class. However I was hoping for a little more flavor-wise. Coming off KBS day perhaps my pallate has gotten a little spoiled. I'll come back to this review over the next four bottles I have.

Pours a clear copper with a quickly dissipating white foam head.

Smells like tangerines, oranges, grapefruits, apricots, medium astringency. No alcohol detectable.

Tastes like it smells, juicy, citrusy, floral notes, clean finish. Medium bitterness, almost an IPA.

Overall this is the finest APA on the planet. No gripes here.

A - first of all, beautiful label art on this bottle. poured a thick cloudy copper color (almost looks like a belgian double) with a nice amount of fluffy white head. lots of lacing

S - very floral, citrusy, piney, grapefruit, honey, caramel

T - huge on the grapefruit taste!! excellent combination of hop bitterness and citrusy sweetness (if that even makes sense!). this is PERFECT right now (just walked about 3 miles with my 3 month old kid in 70 degree weather, came home drenched in sweat and this is taking care of the thirst )

M - crisp, sweet, bitter, refreshing with a sweet dry finish

O - the smell didn't win me over all that much, smelled like a standard ipa, and then i tasted the delightfulness that is zombie dust! this is a perfect beer for hot days like today. great flavor, great mouthfeel.

Pours a ruddy orange with a dense white head. The smell is sharp and tangy, with a lot of meyer lemon notes as well as something herbal, and something a little bready as well. The taste is again heavy on the citrus tang, with a sturdy malt backbone to keep things balanced. It's highly carbonated but very smooth. A very nice beer, one I'm glad to have tried.

Totally blown away by this beer. Fantastic clarity with a golden orange glow. Outstanding balance of sweetness and dryness, with a pungent and puckering grapefruit hops kick that is assertive yet not overpowering. Some malt sweetness creeps in toward the finish, very clean. Drinks much, much bigger than 6.2 abv. This ranks in my top favorite beers.

Poured cool into a pint glass the appearance is a yellow-brown color, clear with a healthy white cover that settles to a stubborn thin blanket. Lacing is equally stalwart. The bouquet of citrus hops is instantly delivered upon opening the bottle. Floral biscuit, near cherry blossoms over delicate grain. Very nice and such a pleasure when risking the often too tame genre of pale ales. The flavor brings an interesting combination of floral grain with a grassy finish. After the tongue has a couple moments to contemplate this, you get more of the citrus back and it ultimately presents a fine, sweet but reasonably balanced hop refreshment. Body is medium-light with a near slick feel and fairly delicate carbonation that crescendos to a mild froth in your mouth. Very drinkable and a fine entry for the pale ale world! I knew there was a reason I was determined to bring home some Three Floyds with me from Chicago last week!

On tap.

It pours a clear golden with a foamy white head.

Smell is well-hopped with some tropical fruit and citrus and only a small backing of malt.

The flavor continues the citrus and tropical combo. There isn't a huge amount of bitterness as the malts accentuate the hops.

I had 2 to make sure it was up to the hype... it wasn't. The second glass definitely was tastier though for what it is worth.

A great beer, but voraciously overhyped.

Appearance: Pours a clear amber color with a decent head that leaves a couple of streaky patches of lacing behind

Smell: Smells like a tropical fruit salad, with ruby red grapefruit and honeybell tangelos, with hints of lemon, pineapple and mango

Taste: The bready malts lay down the platform and the sugary tropical fruits detected in the aroma dance a tango from start to finish, lingering in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Medium body with crisp carbonation

Overall: Doesn't hurt that I picked up this bottle at the brewpub today so it is super fresh; just about the best thing I have ever tasted that has emerged from a fermenter

A - An orange golden look with a small foam layer on top. The beer looks appealing and the head has a good retention. The fluid appears to be pretty clear. The structure of the head and the color of the beer are the only remarks.

S - A strong pine enters my nose as do floral hops and citrus. Another look at the bottle because this smells like an IPA, the bottle mentions pale ale??

T - Again lots of pine, citrus and floral hops, incredibly tasty and easy to drink. The beer is full in body, dry and bitter, which make it an excellent thirst quencher.

M - The medium carbonation fits perfectly with the style. The finish is bitter and lingers around for quite some time.

O - A beautiful pale ale that is for sure and I wish that all my beers this summer would taste the same.
