750ml bottle poured into FFF Teku, consumed during our chili beer tasting a couple months ago. Split 5 ways, reviewed from notes, consumed right after '12 Cognac de Muerte during our chili beer tasting. Thanks Corbet for the bottle.

Bottle #128.

A- Pours pitch black, like the Cognac de Muerte almost no head to speak of, still top and pretty much no lacing except some oily alcohol legs.

S- Dark chocolate, chilies, balanced bourbon, vanilla, a light booziness. Much more balanced and refined then the Cognac de Muerte.

T- Sweet bourbon, dark chocolate, black licorice, vanilla, oak, finishes with balanced chili heat, dark chocolate, and dark fruits. Again much more balanced then Cognac de Muerte with a nice sweetness from the bourbon and the chilies being well integrated.

M- Some light burning alcohol heat but very smooth for 15%, low carbonation fitting for the abv.

O- The '13 de Muerte was definitely a big improvement over the previous vintages. Three Floyds definitely improved upon the beer integrating the chilies very nicely while still letting the characteristics of Dark Lord shine. While I still might prefer some of the other BA Dark Lord variants, this beer was definitely a pleasure to have and I'm glad I sought it out despite the low bottle count.
