Bomber I picked up last year...last one left.
A - On the pour this one easily hit a three finger head. After it settled down, I topped it off and really liked the light brown head. The carbonation is very fine - looks like latte foam on top of a beer that is dark as night. Not a lot of lacing.
S - I get some milk chocolate, ligher roast coffee, and dark fruits in the nose. There's a very mild floral hoppiness to it, but quite understated. The slighest hit of spice - cardamom, ginger, cinnamon. A hint of alcohol as well. The nose is nicely nuanced.
T - Yum. This is great. Faint chocolate and dark fruits to start, complemented by some lightly roasted malt notes. The spiciness come mid-palate, with sticky caramel and toffee. The finish transitions to slightly bitter, smokey, nutty, and warming with very subtle hints of alcohol.
M - Super smooth. Coats the entire palate and the moderate carbonation helps it flow right through from start to finish. Really nice mouthfeel for the style.
D - This was quite good - excellent actually. Among the best in a style that I really enjoy. Pretty easy drinking considering the ABV.

A: Pours a murky brown-black with an enormous, thick khaki head that takes some time to recede.
S: Aromas of coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, burnt toast, roasted grain, and kola nut vie for dominance against aromas of grass, herbs, grapefruit, lemon, lime, bitter orange, and juniper berry.
T: The entry offers up notes of coffee, dark chocolate, heavy cream, vanilla bean, leather, burnt toast, dried black cherry, kola nut, and roasted grain which are chased by flavors of lemon, lime, grapefruit, kumquat, bitter orange, herbs, grass, cedar, and juniper berry. The finish is slick and oily with a turbulent balance of roasted malt, bitter citrus, and pungent herb flavors.
M: Medium-bodied, slick, and silky. Carbonation is gentle and unobtrusive. All in all, this beer could stand to feature carbonation that is a little firmer, but this is a very minor qualm.
O: This is an excellent porter, one that expertly presents a balance of malt and hop aromas and flavors. I would recommend it highly to fans of the style.
