Thank you again Scubarex for this fantastic brew in my SS BIF box
A: dark brown like oil mixed with wood, the head is thick and creamy and sits well to begin with. the head seams to dissipate a bit as the beer is consumed and at this abv its a wash how much that should matter.
S: there is an immediate rush of cooked cereal grains and smoke,. the oily tobacco aroma is not so overwhelming that it dominates the drink, but it does make an appearance and does not detract at all, for me this is a thick rich deep enhancement
T:very smokey and malty with a burnt toast and malt core. this is a solid porter through and through with the morning coffee roast immediate and forthright. while the coffee taste never leaves you there is absolutely twinge of chocolate as well. the sweetness brought by this is marginal, but is there, none the less, and helps calm the beer a bit.
this is a solid, solid porter that is ver delicious, slightly too carbonated, but not even a 1% issue....fabulous beer

A: Pours a murky brown-black with an enormous, thick khaki head that takes some time to recede.
S: Aromas of coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, burnt toast, roasted grain, and kola nut vie for dominance against aromas of grass, herbs, grapefruit, lemon, lime, bitter orange, and juniper berry.
T: The entry offers up notes of coffee, dark chocolate, heavy cream, vanilla bean, leather, burnt toast, dried black cherry, kola nut, and roasted grain which are chased by flavors of lemon, lime, grapefruit, kumquat, bitter orange, herbs, grass, cedar, and juniper berry. The finish is slick and oily with a turbulent balance of roasted malt, bitter citrus, and pungent herb flavors.
M: Medium-bodied, slick, and silky. Carbonation is gentle and unobtrusive. All in all, this beer could stand to feature carbonation that is a little firmer, but this is a very minor qualm.
O: This is an excellent porter, one that expertly presents a balance of malt and hop aromas and flavors. I would recommend it highly to fans of the style.
