Outside appearance is of serious danger. The label isn't my favorite style, but the picture is amazing; it either comforts the soul that this guy's on your side or sends fear to the core.
The pour is thick. Aroma is mostly sweet with an alcohol finish (no doubt, this beast is 13%!), but overall quite subtle for the strength and intensity of the beer.
Appearance is dark. Wicked dark. The pour is thick, like molasses. The head is even incredibly dark and piles up like dirty snowbanks. The head lasts almost as long as the beer, never quitting despite some extra drinking time and an overall low carbonation.
The taste starts out malty sweet and moves into the realm of burnt caramel, followed by nutty coffee tones and finishes with burnt barley that remains for a loooong time.
The mouthfeel is smooth, rich and silky. Covers ever corner of the mouth and brings that flavor everywhere.
Drinkability is also quite high considering the strength and robustness.
