2004 bottle courtesy of Tmoney99...Thanks.
Poured black as the dark lord himself with the smallest of caramel colored heads. This vintage was noticeably more viscous than any others I've had.
The aroma set the stage for what would become an incredible glass of beer. Chocolate, and dark roast coffee, roasted malts.
You could almost pour this into a bowl and eat it like pudding. Creamy chocolate, mocha latte coffee, and dark fruit in every bite...I mean sip. It is the mouthfeel that takes this to an entirely different level than other beers. I can’t imagine a more recent vintage being this decadent.
Recent vintages have not lived up to the 04 or 07 bottles with the 09 being my least favorite year to date. I like the smoke that was added to the 2010 batch.
