A: Such a dark brown it almost looks pure black. Head is chocolate colored. It pours like used motor oil and resembles it as well.
S: Raisins, molasses, slight boozieness, roasted malts.
T: From front to back, this beer touches on every part of the palate. A roastiness of the malts that matches the smell. There is a sweetness to this beer, raisins, dates or plums, as if they were mixed into a cake that was baked in a wood fire just a shade too long. Hop characteristic is nothing compared to the malts and what it brings out. That would be expected considering the style.
M: Again that viscosity is there, which is nice and allows the beer to almost cling to your tongue.
D: Easily one of the best beers you can get your hands on.
As a side note, the Vanilla Bean Dark Lord might be some of the most fantastic stuff on the face of the planet.
