750ml bottle poured into tulip 19/7/13
A murky dark brownish amber with enough clarity to see a few slow tiny bubbles feeding a very well sustained massive beige foam that leaves 6 distinct rings before falling to a pencil top eraser island, looks fantastic
S caramel and butterscotch, candied pineapple, honey, Proef yeast, herbal notes, cereal, little booze, and some citrus rind
T more citrus rind and slightly less caramel and more candied pineapple, a little spice I can't place and there's booze but its well hidden, not sure the age but shes still pretty hoppy, tastes solid but the nose has a slight edge
M full and little syrupy, enough carbonation to give it a slightly creamy feel, just a little heat on the way down ans a sweet rind finish
O great beer and a solid example of the style, not sure of the age and I don't know if I'd want to age it further or not, a nice balance of sweet malt and hops, very easy to drink for a strong heavy beer
worth looking for and when you consider who came together to brew it I shouldn't be surprised. Yet another one of those beers where I want to try it on its bottling date and again well sown the road, I'll be buying a couple to age out of curiosity

I can't believe I didn't rate this one when I had it, unfortunately my notes have no date on when I tried this one, but here is what my notes say on it...
Pours a cloudy hazy amberish brown color, with a super thick off white khaki head. Smells very malty with a hint of hoppy sweetness. Initial taste - malt bomb but very pleasant balanced finish with aftertaste slightly bitter and sweet. low carbonation definitely unlike anything else, probably thanks to the buckwheat! good boo goop!
