Big thanks to d0b for sharing this one through trade. I have recently fallen in love with FFF and am on a quest to try all of their offerings. I think theyre hope use is very well executed.
This beer was poured into a tulip. The body is not quite dark black but there is no seeing through this one either. White head that is lays for about 2 or 3 minutes before completely subsiding.
Very attractive smell, full of cascade and other citrus hops that create a very nice floral scent. Really nice bitter chocolate and bitter coffee, good amount of oats make for a simple but interesting and nicely crafted stout.
Bitter coffee hits you right away followed by a nice floral and citrus hop kick. It's creamy but not in an over the top manner, giving it the consistency of a typical stout. Flavor wise its really different for a stout but definitely conforms with the typical hop usage exhibited in most of FFF offerings. Another job well done.

A: Appears to be very dark brown, if not black, in the glass, but holding it up to the light reveals it to be a bit thin and translucent. Forms a moderate sized deep tan colored head, but the beer offers little retention. Light lacing.
S: Aroma is mostly roasted malts, coffee, and cocoa with a mix of citrus and piney hops.
T: Taste starts of with mostly roasted malts and milk chocolate, then it thins out. Lighter notes of coffee and citrus hops. Maybe a slight hint of smoke.
M: Medium bodied. Lower carbonation. Mild bitterness.
O: A decent stout. A bit hoppy for the style, but that is to be expected with FFF.
