On-tap at Rocking Horse.

Pours a cloudy bright orange with a thin ring of white head. Light gold highlights.

Aroma of bitter citrus--grapefruit peel and what I think is blood oranges. Little pine and grass. Slight floral component that is hard to place.

Taste follows the smell with citrus peel and blood orange creating a bitter upfront flavor. Light bready malt middle. Bitter finish of grassy and floral hops. Some citrus present.

Medium body with light to moderate carbonation. Slightly dry finish. Very minor alcohol heat at the finish as it warms.

Pretty good IPA with a unique, but hard to place, flavor. The citrus component is definitely orange leaning and reminds me of Short's Anniversary Blood Orange Wheatwine. Moderate bitterness. Probably not something I'd order more than one of.

Serving: 22 oz. bomber dated 7/25/14, poured into a Founder's pint glass.

A: Pour a very cloudy and hazy orange color. Faint 1/4 finger white head.

S: Pineapple, mango, tangerine, clementine.

T: Same as it smells, with pineapple and tangerine flavors dominating. Actually rather sweet for a DIPA. Has an almost "juicy" and "fruity" quality and flavor to it.

M: Nice and full. Alcohol hidden very well. Faint bitterness on the finish, not overwhelming at all.

O: So I was surprised to see this listed as a DIPA on BA. Bottle says "cimmerian pale ale". As I started to drink it, it tasted more like a big IPA. But DIPA certainly fits it nonetheless. This is a good beer. For 3F DIPAs, my standard is Permanent Funeral, and this is nowhere near that level. This one's a bit too juicy-sweet for me. Tropical fruit flavors are very dominating. Still a great effort from 3F though.

Recommendation: Any fan of 3F or very citrusy DIPAs should grab this if able.

Pours a cloudy dark golden and amber with a very lively 3 finger head.

Smells of grapefruit, pineapple, and just marvelously tropical.

Taste is very unique. Very fruity very tropical but perfect balanced with a nice bitter hop finish.

Mouthfeel is beyond smooth for a 9%er.

Overall I thought this brew was fantastic and would most certainly pick up again.
