22oz btl poured into shaker pint
Btl date 10-13-15 (First legible FFF date I have seen in a while)

Mangoes, peaches, and clementines pop off the nose of this hazy, bright orange brew. This is citrusy sweet with a touch of honey but has a crisp hop profile to balance it. No alcohol to speak of. I notice the thick syrupy liquid, leftover from each sip, slowly retreat down my glass and back into the sunset colored pool below. Nicely carbonated, even without an abundance of initial foam from the pour. Kinda slick on the tongue. Good beer.

22 oz bottle poured into Spiegelau glass dated 9/20

A: Dirty Orange in color hazy with a creamy head that sits down to a light film

S: This is pineapple and earthy resinous hops a little bit of spiciness

T: lots of herbal earthy peppery taste with sone light fruity sweetness very earthy light malty cracker backbone but the hops are in the front and herbal and some bitterness

M: Syrupy on the tongue it sits on the tongue and you taste it for a bit afterwards

O: Very different breed of hops its not resiny or fruity but it is ver pungent in its Earthy herbal spiciness. There is some fruitiness but it banks towards herbal and its thick n the tongue this is a big beer.

Look: Orange with a white head. Retains pretty well.

Smell: Cirtus - mango, pineapple, and orange are all present. A small amount of pine and malt comes through as well.

Taste: Very balanced. Citrus fruits are present and it is not very bitter for a DIPA. Pretty much tastes exactly like it smells. Nice malt backbone to compliment the hops.

Feel: Medium bodied. Hides the booze well and goes down easy for a 9%.

Overall: One of the better DIPAs I have had from FFF. Don't know why it took me so long to try this one. I would love to try it on draft.

I guess this is the way an IPA should feel.
Smells grassy and herbal with citrus and tropical fruit in the background.
The taste is balanced. Nice malt profile. The hop aroma it's just right.
Feels amazing. Fresh. Clean. No alcohol feel whatsoever.

Hazy orange color with creamy head. Aroma is intensely hoppy with tropical fruit and also some vegetal, herbal notes. Taste follows with the same notes and a good balance between sweetness and bitterness. Body is smooth but has a good amount of carbonation too. Another good one from 3 Floyds.

22oz bomber about 3 weeks old

L - Pours deep hazy orange with amber tinge. Thick fluffy off white head that lingers for ages and ages.
S - Mango, tropical fruit, and a touch of pine resin. Sweet orange rind coming through on the back end
T - More mango and orange, with a touch of malty sweetness and a smooth soft finish with the tiniest bitter bite
F - Very fine creamy carb and good body.

Overall, a fantastic beer - just as good as the bigger brothers Dreadnaught, Permanent Funeral and Arctic Panzer. a stellar beer

Another let down from 3'floyds for me. This beer had a funky taste coming from the malt hop combo. Maybe iv been spoiled but this just didn't do it for me. This beer was 5 days old.

22 oz. bomber poured into a NB snifter.

A - Pours an opaque pale yellow-gold straw color into the glass. A three-finger head of eggshell white dense, but soft and fluffy, foam sets up, and then starts to collapse on itself, leaving sporadic little patches of suds. Eventually, a rather thick sheen of fine foams covers the surface. Held to a full-spectrum light, the beer is apricot-peach in color and very dense and cloudy.

S - A tropical and citrus fruit bonanza. Pineapple big time. Orange Jolly Rancher. A really nice toasted malt and orange marmalade comes up into the nose from underneath. Fresh pine resin in the background. Nose is rich and forward. Quite enjoyable in its own right.

T - Much like the nose. Tropical juice blend on a foundation of toasted malts that transitions to noticeable grapefruit. Complex. A bit of caramel with just a touch of orange emerges. Pine and dried herbs dominate the finish. As it warms in the glass, the malts and sugars get more play and the hops become more subdued.

M - A touch fizzy, with good carbonation. Body is medium and comfortable. Components are pretty well integrated, but also seem to slide around against each other in the mouth. Structure is full, almost thick, but has good viscosity. Finish shows some length, and lingers in echos.

O - For god so loved the world, he created 3F. What a delicious tropical fruit IIPA. It's almost a summer cocktail. A great toasted malt foundation nicely balances the dynamic hop profile, which starts out tropical/citrus and cleanses the palate with pine/herbal bitterness. Outstanding.

22oz bottle, poured into a snifter. The aroma is a pungent, ripe guava and pineapple blend with some sour grapefruit, oranges, toffee, and a melon-like undertone. The beer is murky and amber brown in hue with a big, foamy, soapy, off-white head that has good retention and a light lace. The beer is highly bitter and sweet with maybe a bit more bitter; although the sweetness sharpens as warms. It's thick, syrupy, and sticky with lots of fluffy carbonation and a full body that's bittersweet and juicy - primarily flavored by grapefruit and assorted tropical fruit notes. There's also a waxiness, most noted at the finish that starts with a light, sweet zip then turns to herbs, burnt crust, and cooked toffee. The aftertaste is cloying and bitter with notes of burnt toast and roasted nuts.

From notes. Another great big IPA from 3 Floyds. Deep golden orange and slightly hazy with a nice off-white head. Big citrus and tropical fruits in the aroma with noticeable pineapple and a little grapefruit. Flavor follows with big citrus/tropical fruits and a nice malt base to add sweetness and balance. First taste was almost an overwhelming pineapple blast but then my tastebuds acclimated and the balance really stood out.

There are few things better than a 3 floyds double iPA. This is no exception.

Deep orange body with hints of amber through out. Not much head to speak of, a bit lacking here.

I don't like pineapple as a rule. I love this and it's all pineapple with a malt bill behind it making it just to die for. You can't get better, I'm not even kidding. This is best of the best stuff here.

Juicy over the top intense flavors, so sweet yet so bitter. HUGE citrus notes, pine apple, orange, robust huge amounts of crystal malts. It's a bit too big honestly, yeah I said it. The alcohol and fruit are seriously overwhelming.

Huge beer, 9% seems way too low. Needs a bit of carbonation to help.

There aren't many beers with better flavors but the over the top flavor and poor carbonation, it doesn't work well. I'd buy again but this is a flawed beer.

This is a big double ipa. Loaded with piney, floral and citrus type hops on top of a sweet malt backbone. Moderately resiny in the finish. A solid dipa.

This has a dull copper color and frothy egg shell head that is reminiscent of Alpha King. Unlike alpha King this has a more dank, cat piss smell and taste. This has mostly pine/resin profiles of the hop spectrum.

This drinks very easy and has a great carbonation level. This is an excellent IPA or APA, whatever it is. Three Flyods does it again. I think this is not as citrusy as Panzer or Permanent Funeral which puts it in a very nice niche.

A: The beer is hazy yellowish amber in color. It poured with a short off white head that died down, leaving bits of lacing on the surface and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of tropical fruits are present in the nose—mangos seem to stand out in particular.
T: Like the smell, the taste of this beer is dominated by flavors of tropical fruit hops, although only a light amount of bitterness is noticeable.
M: It feels medium-bodied and slightly crisp on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA has lots of aromas and flavors of tropical fruit hops but is easy to drink because it doesn't have much in the way of bitterness or alcohol.

A - Orange-brown and hazy. Very slim head. Mild lacing.

S - Hard core dank, and the reference to cats seems particularly apt given the nose. A bit of pine, grapefruit essence, but this is a wild and randy nose for sure. A bit more than my preference.

T - Smack hard with grapefruit pith and flesh, with a sundry of citrus and stone fruit too. Juicy and pine. Middle hints at the cattiness in the nose. The close is bitter but surprisingly restrained given the wild free-for-all of the nose and open. What is not present is any of the serious ABV - this comes across as a high-hopped 7% based on taste.

M - Decent carbonation. Given the hop frenzy, not much drying, though some is present in the close.

O - Serious dank, an ode to the cat notes of hops, and how they can be used with skill to produce a shockingly tasty assault. The nose is a bit harsh, but the taste comes through milder. This is a serious beer, but it drinks clean and bright, and flashes great grapefruit notes to boot. Nice.

Look - Orange juice body. Not see through when cold. Thick off white head with aggressive pour. Lacing.

Smell - Dank Kiwi. Orange. Passion. Dragon. Grapefruit.

Taste - Dank and bitter up front. Fades to earthy citrus. Finishes off the tongue with orange and other citrus.

Feel - Not a carbonation bomb. Medium feel.

Overall - I was right, still my favorite Floyds. This was one of the first ones I tried and glad I got it again. Earthy dankness balanced well with citrus.

Big sweet hop mess. No delicacy or thought put into the hop balance in this IIPA. Big hops plus bigger sweetness, this might be better aged into a blonde barleywine after a few years in the cellar.

Strong body odor aroma hits first. Lots of grass and onion, with underlying citrus, but damn that b.o. is potent. Notes of peach and grapefruit emerge.

Flavor reveals much more fruit character upfront, with fresh cut grass and a hint of onion leading to a moderately bitter finish. Abv is definitely felt.Sharp notes of grapefruit and lime are almost puckeringly tart. I love the fruit notes, but could do without the b.o.and onion.

Second time I've had this very good beer. For most brewers, this would be their flagship. For 3 Floyds it's just another very good beer. Those of us who drink 3 Floyds regularly are so spoiled!

A - Pours a cloudy golden orange with a one-finger white foamy head. The head dissapates quickly leaving some light spotty lacing.

S - Aroma is big grapefruit, lemon peel, and floral hops.

T - The taste starts out sweet with apricots, tangerine, and grapefruit mixed with caramel malts. The piney hops dominate the back end producing a nice lingering bitterness.

M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is soft and creamy with a dry finish.

O - Another outstanding offering from 3 Floyd's. Nice mix of big piney hops and bright citrus.

Fantastic DIPA! I prefer this to every other of its style. 3 Floyds kills it. My only complaint is that the mouth feel is a bit syrupy, but otherwise fantastic beer.

Hazy amber pour. Not much head ( maybe too cold).
Huge pine, peach, citrus, hops fresh bread.
Tastes of bitter pine, hops, grapefruit, malts and caramel.
Strong full bofiy mouth feel with great bitterness.
This is a real good IPA offering, but unfortunately, 3F does such a sick job with most of their beers,
This isn't their best IPA but, I'd drink it all day long!!!
