I have been sitting on this one since 2012 . Finally decided to open this gem pool side.
A. looks like honey, cannot see at all threw it, very cloudy. about a 3 finger head. not sure if the color reflects it being 2 years old.
S. smells is very close to a East Coast IPA . kind of has that mango, pineapple IPA very sweet juciey smell.
T. very nice .. by no means if someone put this in front of me in a blind taste tast would i ever think this is a barleywine. i would swear this is a Imperial IPA. has some malt backbone and really gets more of a varnish tast as it warms. very drinkable.
M. very stickey close to honey in the mouth and keeps the throut coated as a RIS might. again might be because it has been aged for 2 years.
O. i really wish i had more of these . was a great treat and well worth the wait of cellering this one. this is something i would drink all the time if it was not such a rare beer .. i would reconmind this one . if you have a chance to sample and like IPA's this will be a treat..

Bottle: Poured a dark blonde color ale with a medium size foamy head with limited retention and some light lacing. Aroma of grainy cereal notes with quite bit of sweetness. Taste is also dominated by grainy cereal notes with some dry notes with quite a bit of residual sugar. Body is about average with medium carbonation and light warming alcohol. Interesting experience but just too sweet for me at the end of the day.
