Belgian estery spice and dank hops in aroma. Flavor is resiny, with muted esters. Fairly odd mix of esters and hops.

Too much of an odd spice flavor in the finish that throws everything off.

Poured into a snifter.
A - Pours a clear light orange with a small white head.
S - Banana, clove and Belgian yeast, very inviting.
T - Very earthy with notes of pepper, banana and clove.
M - Dry with significant carbonation.
O - I seem to like this more than most of the reviewers. I really like the complex flavors, which I had not expected. I often avoid Pale Ale's because most aren't complex. This one is quite tasty and I look forward to the next bottle.

A solid, balanced, damn drinkable Belgian Pale. I'm kinda surprised it's from 3Fs. They usually do their distinct thing with every style and yet this one carries none of that. Pretty much all I get is bubble gummy smoothness.

Serving: 22 oz. bomber poured into a tulip. Bottled on 2/17/15, making this just over 2 weeks old.

A: Pours a mostly clear golden yellow, with a 1 finger foamy white head that sticks around.

S: Lots of banana, clove, ginger, allspice. Belgian yeast very noticeable.

T: Very bready and malty. Peppery and cracker-like at the front. Finishes with banana, clove, ginger and lots of spice and alcohol.

M: Lots of carbonation. Alcohol quite strong here. Very harsh finish. Rather dry and boozy.

O: This is a very aggressive Belgian-style pale ale. At 8.5%, it's quite boozy. It's got all the typical characteristics of a Belgian-style pale, but this one is not quite balanced. It's very malt forward, dry, and rather harsh and boozy on the finish. It's not unpleasant in anyway, it's just that it's a weaker Three Floyd's offering and could use quite a bit of fine-tuning.

Recommendation: One of the few Three Floyd's beers you can pass on, unless you're a diehard fan of them or the style.
