22oz bottle dated 6/7/14 poured into a pint glass
A: Pitch black with a 2+ finger head
S: Oat, smoke, roasted malt, caramel/toffee; overall very dark and complex
T: Oat, smoke, roasted malt, a touch bitter... also a slightly empty midpalate though a fairly long finish balances it out
O: Solid but I think more hops would add a nice addition that's currently lacking

This bad review is likely due to a tap line not getting cleaned, or a bad keg, or something along those lines.

Pours a normal color, but the smell is like a weird Belgian/Hefeweissen mix with a pink gumball smell dominating the nose.

Taste is similar - no char, no chocolate, no coffee - just overly sweet gumballs.

Overall, not at all enjoyable. Would love to have this as it is supposed to taste.

Appearance: Black with dark tan head. Head is very fine, with sticky lacing left behind.

Aroma: Strong coffee aroma with vanilla bean. Some milk chocolate in there as well.

Taste & Mouthfeel: Sweet, full, creamy vanilla on the tongue. Vanilla is earthy, like a vanilla bean. Finishes with dry, roasted coffee bitterness. Hints of caramel, caramelized sugar, and brown sugar are present throughout as well. There is just enough sweet, sugary character here to bridge the gap between the vanilla bean and the coffee bitterness. The oatmeal used lends its characteristic creamy texture to the brew.

Final Word: Highly recommended for anyone that enjoys stouts or coffee! This brew was creamy, full flavored, well balanced and nuanced, and all of the flavors felt very true to the ingredient. The vanilla tasted like vanilla bean and not vanilla extract, and the coffee had the richness of real, fresh brewed, whole bean coffee. The caramel flavors brought the creamy texture, sweet vanilla, and bitter coffee together in perfect harmony, as if you were drinking a high quality cappuccino. Again, highly recommended!
