Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a Three Floyds branded imperial pint glass
Pours a dark chocolate brown with a light beige one and half finger foamy head. Excellent retention, splotchy lacing. Burnt chocolate biscuit, citrus notes, and a hint of caramel on the nose. Opens with dark chocolate, slightly bitter grapefruit and tangerine poke through, as well as roasted dark malt and burnt caramel and brown sugar. Finishes with citrus rind bitterness, more charred malt, and very subtle hints of dark roasted coffee. Abundant carbonation, lighter medium body, slick with a bit of creaminess. A very tasty brew but not one that I would consider a stout or even a porter. This beer is most certainly accurately categorized as an American Black Ale/Black IPA. FFF's IIPA/DIPA's have much heavier bodies than Toxic Revolution.

Spent one year in the cellar bough fresh from the brewery
Pours pitch black in color and pretty viscous. A big finger and a half foamy light tan head retains nicely.
Smell is good. Lots of roasted barley maybe some rye are forward in the nose and fade to a toffee aroma. an earthy hop aroma finishes.
Taste follows the nose with big roasted barley and rye flavors upfront. Malt is decently balanced with a mild bite, hints of tobacco and saddle leather, moderate earthy hop flavor and mild bitterness.
Mouthfeel is moderately thick with a little bit of stickiness and some oily hoppy resin.
Had I realized how hoppy this was I would have drank it fresh. Not a great stout but I'll give it the benifit of the doubt considering it's age.
