Notes/Commercial Description:
With the same grim determination and American innovation that President Jack Kennedy showed when propelling us to victory in the space race, we at Three Floyds bring you Space Station Middle Finger. Both bright and citrusy this pale ale deserves to be in orbit.

With the preverbal middle finger thrown up to all those "style police", this new hoppy ale from Three Floyds is certainly more hoppy than the typical American pale ale but dials it back on the strong bitterness of IPA.

Space Station Middle Finger pours with a frothy and gradient separation as its malt sweetness reluctantly gives up its bubbles. Its firm and creamy foamstance becomes the delivery system for candied fruit- grapefruit, orange, berry, lemon and peppercorn all seem of the caramelized variety. Flavors say even more so as the early palate is coated with medium caramelization and honey.

Its balanced middle palate is full and juicy with hop brilliance, revealing red grapefruit, kumquat, gooseberry, lemon leaf and passion fruit with alternating sips. And with all that candied malt support, the fruit flavors from hops seem to be sugar dipped. Caramel and floral honey extend from that candied taste and is determined to keep the taste even-keel.

Alas, the waning sips begin to suppress the malt sweetness and the hops pull forth, showing a strong IPA set of proportions. Its malty-dry finish is resinous and peppery as flavors of fresh-cut grass, chive and leaf offer a snappy resinous closure with aftertaste of tropical fruit.

Clean drink, light hoppy smell, finishes a little bitter but overall a good beer to pair with food, had a great burger with this one.

Pours a light amber orange with a nice bubbly two finger head. Leaves pretty white lacing all the way down the pint glass.

Pineapple, cantaloupe, and citrus are very abundant in the nose.

I really dig the cantaloupe I get in this, I'm a huge fan of cantaloupe, but very nice sticky hop resin and citrus to note as well. And cucumber, delicious cucumber.

Mouthfeel is sticky and resiny hop goodness.

Overall this is a fantastic APA...an imperial version would be lovely though ;)
