Bomber bottle with Gumballhead himself on the labe. Strange, I always pictured him as a Schlitz old-school sort of cat. Be that as it may. Pours bright gold, slightly cloudy, chance of evening showers, white clouds on the horizon of the beer which turn cirrus quickly. Aroma of lemon/grapefruit/tangerine citrus hops and clover honey, with underlying wheat grain aromas coming through.
VERY similar in character to Southern Tier Hop Sun, but bigger in flavor. Starts with a perfectly balanced wheat/hop/sweet malt attack - citrus with a firm bitterness, that particularly Amarillo hop bite on the sides of the tongue, a tea-with-honey maltiness in the middle... nice. Finishes with a refeshing lemony-honey cleanness. Medium, appropriate mouthfeel, and VERY drinkable.
Thanks to BA NucularGeorge for the bottle. Once again, f'n george!!!

A: Only slightly hazy orange-gold body, tufts of bubbles, a good head that leaves a thin coating on the surface, a few legs of sticky lace.
S: Mostly strikingly clean hops, most citrus fruits. Faint background of wheat. Really good, but too hop-centric for the named style.
T: Again, too hoppy for the style, but it's too good for me to knock it much. Clean, clean hops showcasing a variety of citruses with minimal bitterness playing off a slightly sweet wheat base. Finish could be longer.
M: Supremely crisp. Fluid. Lively. Refreshing. This is fantastic.
O: A simple concept wonderfully executed. Exactly matches my preferences for low bitterness, restrained hopping, and mild wheat sweetness. It's between a wheat and an IPA, I guess they can't appease both camps ('this IPA is weak!' 'this wheat has too much hops!'). All said and done, a great, easily repeatable beer.
