Appearance - Pours a clear, bright, pure golden color with a 2-finger white finger head. Good retention, resulting in a broken layer of microbubbles across the surface. Lacing is spotty with fair stick.
Smell - Those Amarillo hops shine through with strong proclamation of their presence. Bright citrus with faint notes of mild soap. Wheat comes through faintly.
Taste - Follows the nose, mostly. Bright citrus notes upfront, moderate notes of earthen wheat and a touch of soapiness. Finishes with a mild lemon twang.
Mouthfeel - Light to medium in body, with moderate carbonation. Smooth. Goes down easy. The Kick from the citrus makes it feel more lively than what actually is.
Overall - Honestly, I expected better. This is good; I was expecting excellent. Good balance, but ultimately I felt it too one-dimensional. If I were in the mood for a hoppy wheat, I'd opt for a Lagunitas Lil' Sumpin Sumpin over this. I'm glad I traded for it, but it's unlikely I'd do that again.
