American Pale Wheat Ale |  5.60% ABV

Availability: Year-round

Notes/Commercial Description:
An American Wheat Ale, Gumballhead is named in honor of the underground comic book cat created by Rob Syers. Initially a seasonal summer beer, now brewed year round due to demand. This beer helped redefine American Wheat Beers. Brewed with Amarillo Hops and a generous portion of American red wheat, Gumballhead has a complex hop aroma with notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, marmalade and peach. These flavors combined with low bitterness make Gumballhead a refreshing American Wheat Beer that doesn’t suck.

Served - bottle into Pint Glass

Appearance
Light brown-yellow color with minimal head and smooth, consistent color.

Smell
Very hoppy with some fruity and wheat scents. Some lemon and grapefruit thrown in.

Taste
Flavor is huge. Grapefruit and hops. A lot of different fruits here. Lemon, grapefruit, citrus, banana, etc.

Mouthfeel
Amazing hoppy feel in the entire mouth. Slight carbonation that really makes the beer taste smooth in your mouth.

Overall
An amazing APA/Wheat that really hits you over the head with taste. The taste alone keeps you coming back for more and the rest of this beer does it justice as well. Really recommended.

Got his beer from boilermakerryan as a local. Thanks!

A: A beautiful light golden yellow with a minimal white head.

S: It has a very predominate hop aroma. There is a large range of citrus fruits present including lemon, pineapple, and grapefruit. In the background there is a nice bready aroma.

T: I am not a fan of wheat beers but this one is excellent. There is a dominate bitterness created by the hops along with the citrus. There is a lager/wheat flavor that is balanced nicely by the caramely body and the hops.

M: It fills the mouth well but could be a little heavier.

O: A very good beer. This is one of the few wheat beers in my top list of beers. If given the opportunity to try this beer, do it.
