The beer is hazy orange with a hint of crimson. Half inch of off-white head. The aroma offers some resinous hops, malt, bread, sweet fruits, esters, candies. This is NOT a saison. Not even close. FFF makes some great beers. This is not one of them. Even if one were to re-categorize this beer, it doesn't change the fact that it is simply sub-par. No yeast, funk, farmhouse, hay, spice or any characteristics of the style. Too sweet, too hoppy, messy, muddled. Avoid.

Appearance: a hazy orange color. Lots of yeasty sediment. Hardly existent head that fades to just about nothing. Lacking the bubbles and the foam I look for

Smell:lots of caramel and crystal malts. Some citrus hops.

Taste: opens up with a mix of citrus and caramel malts. Low to no yeastiness.

Mouthfeel: sticky. Fairly heavy.

Overall: I didn't think three floyds saison would be very true to style and it isn't. Drinks a lot like a reddish slightly hoppy American beer. Needs less malts flavor and more yeast.

Bottle from trade. Big thanks for FFF always! Bomber pours perfectly clear orange, almost red, with a big creamy off white head on top. Looks very pretty. Aroma of hay, charcoal and ash, light biscuits, bit of citrus peel. Flavor is lots of caramel and crystal malts, cherry, hard candy, some trace bitter hay in the background. This isn't a Saison at all, closer to an American Barleywine. Really, think Saison, then think the opposite, that is this beer. Flavor is lacking a bit even there. Medium heavy mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Not a horrible beer or anything, but not really sure what they were going for here.
