I try to get to 3 Floyds every chance I can. I live about 2.5 hours south west of the pub and since this seems to be the only place where you can get Zombie Dust and Gumballhead in any real quantity, it's worth the trip. My friends and I have made it a bi monthly trip for the last year or so. The beer selection is fantastic. Normally have quite a bit on tap and get to try limited runs. The restaurant is good, but nothing I'd write home about. They want to have an exotic twist on bar food cuisine and being so close to Chicago, others are just doing it better. Prepare for a long wait. Have gone on the weekends and you should expect at least a 45 minute wait. The last weekend trip I made, we waited for 1.5 hours. Even went on a Wednesday once and waited for 40 minutes. The place always has a crowd. The eating area is always very clean and the bar has a ton of interesting trinkets all around that really could keep you finding new things for days. The staff have always been attentive and very friendly as time allows. They are serving around the clock. Any merchandise bought such as shirts and glassware have been high quality and have held up through multiple washes.
Let's face it, It the beer you're after and the availability down right sucks. Do not prepare to get your favorite beer on a Saturday night. Stock has run dry. They almost always have Robert the Bruce, Alpha King and Pride and Joy. But, if you're looking for Zombiedust, Gumballhead or whatever the latest bomber bottle is(War Mullet is AMAZING!), go on a Wednesday or Thursday as they most likely will have a decent stock on hand. Just remember...Ugh...2 Case limit.

Due to covid my narrative will be skewed. Location was easy to find and had lots of parking. Beer selection is outstanding and service was top notch. Unfortunately I could not try food. I hope to go back after covid for full experience.

Metal playing, graphic novel type art all over the place. All the staff are wearing and tatted up. It has this underground outlaw feel to the place. Then there are all of these rules that just kinda blows all of that away. If you want to get a flight there are pre-set flights and the staff will not budge on that. The kicker on this is the pre-set flight include all of the beers that you have most likely already had. The beers that are only in the taproom are not included. They are not big on any substitutions on the menu either.

This place has a reputation for being off-putting; I'd say if you don't act like a dick, you won't be treated like a dick.
That said, it's a bit cramped, the music is super loud and it can be a bit much.
However, the food's good enough not to care. Just don't take your parents here.

Vibe: Perfect. Doesn’t feel like you’re in a brewery, but rather a metal bar. Grunget, in a good way.
Food: On point. Had the fries and cheese curds to start. Ramen as an entree. The best ramen I’ve ever had. The noodles tasted homemade. They were dense and starchy. Really impressed with the food.
Selection: Very good selection. I was in the mood for a stout which they did not have, but they everything else under the sun including sours, IPA’s, lager, Oktoberfest, scotch ale.
Quality: Everything was on point. The food was excellent, as were the beers. It was great to try staples like Zombie Dust and Gumballhead on tap. The best pours of either I’ve ever had.
I hope I get the chance to return.

Dark Lord Day 2018 was an amazing (once in a lifetime) experience! Thousands of beer lovers sharing beers from across the US and hoping to snag the Handjee and other variants. Due to event, I am not able to rate what appears to be a small tap room on property.

I attended a trade conference in Chicago, so I extended my trip and made my way to Munster, Indiana. This side trip has exceeded my expectations. There's a new hotel near the brewery next to a new park and golf course. There are nice restaurants nearby. I even made my first visit to a White Castle.
Of course, Three Floyds is the main reason I came to Munster. I walked to the brewpub which was located in an industrial park right under the water tower. There was a huge production facility next to their brewpub. The hostess and server were very friendly and welcoming.
The space was smaller than I expected, but they had plenty of tables and seating at the bar. I had some tasters, and they were very nice.
I enjoyed my visit very much!

Visiting from Edmonton - July 2018 visit - a Sunday (post Willow Creek Community Church beforehand). Busy already at noon but seated as 2 immediately at bar. Great selection of hop forward beers - less so if you are not hip fan (I am). Bartender super friendly and helpful - had 5 5 oz pours for two of us - prompt and delicious pub food at reasonable price. Honestly metal music not my thing but seemed appropriate for the overall feel of the place and not teeth rattling loud.
The shop is a little small but well stocked and again friendly service. Overall great - would go back any time.

Stopped in on July 1 during a cross-country trip from Oregon to Maryland. I had heard good things about them, and may have even had one of their beers once, not sure about that. Anyhow, this is now my favorite brewpub. The beers are varied and outstanding, the atmosphere is friendly and laid back, and the vibe is kind of Hoosier Metal. My only regret is that I ate before going there, so I can't comment on their kitchen from experience. The menu looked nice, however, and regulars who were in attendance assured me that the food was excellent. I just joined Beer Advocate a few minutes ago so I could leave this review. If you're ever close to Chicago, Three Floyds is definitely worth a side trip, especially if you like uncompromising beers.
