Rating 995. I'm sure this will get lost in the crowd. I was there once last year and once this past weekend. I swore I rated this place last year-but I guess not.

FFF is located in an office/industrial park in Suburban Chicago. Its pretty easy to find if you set your GPS-and its not far off of I-80.

Vibe- Awesome Rock music that is somewhat loud. Strange tattoo-like artwork and a lot of flags including the "Don't tread on me" trademark libertarian flag. Its a pretty small place with 3 small dining areas and an even smaller gift shop on the left side of the place.

Quality and Selection- 15 of their own world class beers on-tap, a nitro-line, and 6 fantastic guest taps. Our fantastic guest tap last year was port older viscosity and this year was Barrel Aged 12 Dogs of Christmas (I live an hour from Akron and haven't seen this on tap anywhere). Permanent Funeral was the highlight both years for me for sure-but high quality sours, stouts, pale ales, etc. This is what FFF is all about.

Food- They have a somewhat limited food menu with one page of appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, and pizzas. All are fantastic- but they have a strict no substitution policy-which sucks for someone with food allergies.

Service- Yes the servers know their product and are timely. They just won't go out of their way to be friendly or nice to you. We had a member of our party with a food allergy and since they have a small kitchen they told him they could take it off but not replace it. We told them last year we drove from 8 hours away just to try the place and they were unimpressed-since they get that all the time. We had a decent waitress for 20 min this weekend only for her to stop serving our table and another girl waited on us-then since we were difficult (since someone at our table had allergies) we ended up with a male server. He was cool and would talk beer with us a little bit-but 1.5/5 is a bad ratio.

Also- they have at least a 1 hour wait no matter when you go and they have no place to wait-the two times we went we couldn't even wait at the bar-so we sat in our car and waited for them to call our cell phones.

Overall I love FFF and I am looking forward to go back. Other than their service-this place is world class. (2,259 characters)

Great beer place. You are going to wait they do not take reservations. You wait because it is worth it. Amazing beer selection. Food is very very good. Not the usual bar food. Service is a tad slow but hey you are there to spend time and have great food and beer. (263 characters)

Awesome beer. We know that already. Surprisingly good food. Mean people, particularly the "host" and the manager. They made my wife cry, seriously. I mean, clearly the customer is not always right, but you shouldn't treat them like shit just because you can. (258 characters)

Had a great trip here last week. The people were very friendly and willing to talk beer. The tap selection had a diverse array of both FFF beers and good guest tap. I thought the food was excellent for a brew pub, had the smoked pork shoulder open faced sandwich. Vibe was excellent. Long lines for to-go beer due to Zombie dust release. Definitely want to go again. (369 characters)

Excellent Burger and pulled pork Mac n cheese. The beer and hard rock/metal atmosphere aren't bad eiteither. Only slight disappointment was that they didn't have a dark beer on tap this evening. (195 characters)

2013 boys weekend to Chicago from Toronto with stops in Marshall (Dark Horse), Kalamazoo (Bell's), Grand Rapids (Founders, HopCat) and then 3F. Stopped for Sat lunch at 3F. Beers are obviously awesome, no Zombie at the Kiosk that day but grabbed Dreadnought, Alpha, Gumballhead and Artic Panzer so a fine haul. Wonderfully eclectic crowd in line, had a great talk with some conspiracy theorist hunter guys on their way to fishing and a yuppie couple who were probably taking the Audi for a trip to a Republican convention. Everything you can imagine and in the words of Cyrus from the Warriors "Nobody is wasting nobody". Very fine line up. Short wait to get into brew pub and the food was somewhat surprisingly really good. Decor was great, i am not going to lie I tried to buy the Ultimate Warrior jacket they had framed on the wall (this was before his untimely passing. RIP Warrior). They had Zombie on tap which was awesome. Everyone should visit this place and if you live in Ontario and have 4 days I highly recommend this excursion.... (1,043 characters)

The Three Floyds beers and great food make this brewpub an exceptional place to hang out. I had several of the beers you don't normally see in bottles and they were pretty good. I ordered a thai chicken coconut curry pizza and paired it with a zombie dust for a meal I still dream about. The wait staff was friendly and the atmosphere was really nice, but the music was a little obnoxiously loud. They were selling zombie dust by the case outside along with some other bombers. Overall no craft beer drinker can afford to skip out on this place, the food was excellent and the beer is the same FFF we know and love. (615 characters)

Beer Awesome. Heavy metal theme I totally dig. This place needs to expand, obviously. Always packed and I think it frustrates workers. Usually a big ugly guy meets you at the door and not very friendly. Last time I went, picked up my limit of beer and was going to be seated at bar after a short wait but was totally turned off by attitude of door man and drove 2hours towards home and stopped off at a nice bar on way home instead. (437 characters)

Not impressed with place. Hostess didn't crack a smile. Wanted to get a bite and enjoy some great beer. Wife and I were not allowed to stand at the bar while we waited for a table. We drove over an hour to get there in the poring rain. If we were to wait, we had to wait in the unimpressive lobby. Unless this is a fire marshal or Indiana thing, it was a put-off. Got 2 six packs to go. Big signs in the pick-up area "No Zombie Dust" - again not the best touch. (469 characters)

This place is not what you might expect,hands-down one of the most unusual brewery's I have ever been to. The food was really good and the Thai pizza although a bit strange was delicious. I would highly recommend making the trek at least once. (245 characters)

One of the top beer destinations of an 8000-mile road trip in summer 2014. Stopped here on the second day after about 7.5 hours of driving.

The ambiance itself was somehow more "welcoming" than I would have imagined for whatever reason. Comfortable and spacious seating areas and a large bar where we sat. Plenty of metal decor but still has a classy feel about it.

The service and product were both great. We also got sandwiches which were outstanding compared to other food I have had at comparable brewpubs. Great use of fresh, flavorful ingredients and plenty of options that are not just deep fried. The beer lived up to it's reputation. I had their "staples" before visiting but between us we sampled about five brews I had never heard of previous and they were all good to excellent. Also plenty of different styles to choose from.

For some reason (probably just from gossiping BAs) I had a strange perception of what Three Floyds was like. To me, it was very welcoming and delivered exceptionally in all of the things a brewpub should do. The only thing I have as a small gripe was the to-go area. It just seemed thrown in on the fly and not a truly dedicated space. (1,177 characters)

These guys have the midas touch. Not a bad beer in the house and the food was equally as fantastic. Mountains of meaty goodness with arguably the best beer in America. (169 characters)

No question, these are the beer gods of the universe, if not the suburbs of Munster. You won't get a bad product from them. They attained cult status years ago. Give a FFF beer to a prohibitionist, and and watch them forsake their vows! (236 characters)

Went to Three Floyds during the week while visiting my home town of Chicago. My wife thought I was crazy going to Munster, IN for a few beers but when she tried them her attitude quickly changed. The moment I walked in, I liked the place. Lots of locals up at the bar and our waitress did a great job. The pizza we had (shredded coconut and a little heat) was surprisingly good and the beer as everyone knows is fantastic. My only bonehead move was not getting in line for the cases of ZD they were selling. I'll be making a lot of trips to Munster in the future whenever I visit the rents in Chi-town. (608 characters)

Three Floyds is solid. Mostly for the typically outstanding assortment of their beers that you can only enjoy at the brewpub. It is however exceptionally loud due to the fact that it also seems to fancy itself somewhat of a metal bar.

The food is good and there is a decent variety. Not much for veggies but I don't really think that's the crowd they're catering for so it's understood.

If you go on a weekend expect there to be a wait, both for a table in the brewpub but also if you plan on picking up bottles. They have a separate entrance/area for bottle sales along with t-shirts and other paraphernalia that often extends quite a distance on the weekends.

I've found the service to be average. I've never had a bad experience but also have never really been blown away either.

I guess what I'm saying is go for their taps. Stuff like Zombie Dust and Live a Rich Life from the source is exceptional. (908 characters)

Beer is awesome - but the listening to obscenely loud death metal for hours upon hours - sucks.....balls
and its located in an industrial park - doesn't really get more average. (177 characters)

The beer of course is great and actually is not at all overpriced for its quality. The place is constantly packed, and the staff clearly hopes to get you in and out. While the food is pretty good, they refuse to change any order (they will not remove an ingredient from any food). You will spend some time waiting outside to get in, and it's very likely they won't have their popular Zombie Dust bottles to go. Still, the beer is great and that makes the brewery well worth visiting. (483 characters)

Beer usually real good, barrel-aged Dark Lords are fantastic, good beer menu. Only problem seems to be that they can't make enough.

Food pretty good, service sometimes spotty, couple of long-timers are very good, not included in the spotty service category.

A lot the stuff they 'pump' out turns out sub-par, just make more Zombie Dust, simple. (347 characters)

Worth the trip for the beer alone - the definition of excellence. Fantastic selection and rotation. Food is also fabulous if you're looking to splurge, although I usually catch myself wishing they had some simple, cheaper options. Atmosphere is deliciously overstimulating. When I leave I can't tell if I'm drunk on the great beer, the decadent food, or the noise. (364 characters)

Arrived after an overnight drive from baltimore at 12:10 local time on a Saturday afternoon. There was already a line about 45 people deep at the brewpub line and about 25 deep at the to-go kiosk line. I was very impressed with how quickly the kiosk line moved and overheard the system they use for the pub. They do not want to overwhelm the kitchen, so they let a group in every few minutes. Both lines moved pretty efficiently, but there was definitely a wait. I waited about 30 minutes to get the beer to go. I spoke to two staff members and both were very friendly and approachable. I read about some bad customer service in the past, but I had no issues at all and appreciated the effort the staff put in to accommodate the large crowd that was already there. I wish I could have given the drafts and food a try, but I'm happy with the visit I had. (853 characters)

Got some beer "to-go" and put our names in to sit and have some food and beer in the brewpub. We were told it would be "one hour or an hour and half, maybe more maybe less". We sat at the front door on the cracked pavement amongst the unkept landscaping for two hours listening to every name called. Ours was not called and we never left the front door area. After two hours we asked how long it would be and were told we were called 4 times and didn't respond (BS) and now it would be another 1.5 hours. The people working there were rude, terse and apathetic.
They brew great beer, but we wish we didn't waste two hours of our lives sitting and waiting at this dive.
Can't say the beer isn't great, but avoid staying at the brewpub. You can get their beer at the local liquor stores. (793 characters)

"Oh their staff treats you like shit, but Zombie Dust is great" or [insert whatever typical bash you want with a catch that Zombie Dust is worth it], but no bullshit, I've never had a poor experience at Floyd's.

Granted, you might wait for a table for upwards of an hour, or even stand in the bottle line for 45 minutes, but there's a reason for that...

Food is superb, music is metal, always some crazy shit on the TV and the beers...well, I'll let them speak for themselves.

Overall, just go and don't act like, A) You own the place or B) They owe you something....tip your bartender and make some friends and drink good beer. (631 characters)

After many, many visits, it's time for a review.

The atmosphere is always unusual when you get inside, after what is often a fairy decent wait, the metal is always at full blast, an unusual movie is always on, my last visit happened to be Finding Nemo, but in the past it's been choices such as The Never Ending Story, Gymkata, Army of Darkness, Edward Scissorhands, Ice Age and many other bizarre choices. The ambiance amongst the customers is usually upbeat, not too loud or crazy, though the attitude of most of the staff is mild ambivalence. The quality of the beer is fantastic, all the usual staples are on tap along with a great variety of seasonals, draft only options and occasionally a nice cask choice. The service is hit or miss, I've had good and bad experiences, just depends on the server's mood really, but the selection of beers both on draft and in bottles is really great, they always make sure to have a nice variety of their house brews, sure to satisfy the entire spectrum of style preferences, but the bonus is that the food is very good. I've had a few misses that didn't turn out so great, but generally they hit the spot, their rotating taco choices are always great, burgers are usually top notch with good entree choices and the desserts shouldn't be missed.

Verdict: One of the better brewpub experiences in the Chicagoland area. The wait is usually a bit longer than it needs to be, but the food is good and the beers are great, not hard to see why it draws a crowd. Definitely a must visit. (1,524 characters)

I've been here quite a few times now, both to just buy carryout beer and to eat/drink in the brewpub area. I live in Cincinnati, which is about 4 hours southeast of Munster, but it's worth the trip up every time. Depending on the day and the time, expect to wait for a table/spot at the bar. I've waited as long as an hour and a half, and as short as 10 minutes.

The atmosphere is perfect depending on your personality. They play -- almost strictly, judging from the times I've been in there -- metal/punk/90s indie-rock records (which works a-ok for me). They have old kung-fu and action movies playing on a big screen in the bar area. It's well lit during the day due to natural light, and just dark enough in the evenings/night. Lots of 3 Floyds memorabilia around the bar, plus toys/comics and other beer memorabilia.

They keep about 15 to 20 of their own beers on tap at any given time, a lot of which are tap-room exclusive. Plus, they have some guest taps. You can't go wrong.

All of the staff is friendly and beer knowledgeable. I've only ever received top-notch service while in the bar area or carryout section. Yes, the place is constantly busy, but even so, the staff is always friendly and conversational.

The food is good to very good depending on what you order. The menu is always rotating, but you can never go wrong with poutine or tacos!

Everything is very reasonably priced. I've ran up some pretty steep bills here, but given the amount of beer we drank and food we ate...I can't complain. (1,517 characters)
